It is with profound sadness that Books 4 Kids announces the loss of one of our first authors in the program, Dwain Lovett. Dwain has entertained thousands of children, with his stories about Jasmine, Pax and, of course, Gertie the agouti.
Dwain's ability to make children laugh, cry and even tour a Caribbean island in the middle of a South Dakota winter, will be forever remembered.
Fly high, dear friend. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten.

It's been a busy time for Books 4 Kids as we prepared books for students in seven states!
We will have an official count at the end of the school year, but Books 4 Kids has surpassed 50,000 books given free to students around the world.
50,000!!

I wanted to give everyone an update on all the cities the Books 4 Kids Program has reached elementary children in so far this year.
Brookings, South Dakota
Willmar, Minnesota
South Bend, Indiana
DeSmet, South Dakota
Rapid City, South Dakota

We still plan on reaching students in these cities as well this school year.
San Antonio, Texas
Reading, Pennsylvania
Williston, North Dakota
Grand Island, Nebraska
Shelton, Connecticut
