We are excited to welcome Chief Arnold to Broken Arrow!!!!
We are filled with pride and mixed emotions as we share the news that our beloved Chief, Lance Arnold, has accepted the position of Chief of Police at the Broken Arrow Police Department in Oklahoma. Chief Arnold has always encouraged us to strive for greatness, even if it means seeking opportunities elsewhere to achieve our goals. With this in mind, we can only be happy for him as he accepts this new challenge. 💙👏
During his time with us, Chief Arnold elevated every area of the Weatherford Police Department. The first thing he did 7 years ago was give us a mission, vision, and core values that would help guide us on the streets and in our daily choices. This foundation gave us a sense of purpose and direction, showing us who we were and where we were headed.
He gave us the ambitious goal of reducing crime even when the city was experiencing unprecedented growth. By equipping officers with up-to-date crime trends and historical data, he made our efforts more effective and strategic. His advocacy for additional resources, such as the drone program and K9 Jack, empowered us to be proactive between calls. The creation of the Community Services Division further strengthened our approach, and as a result, crime in Weatherford was reduced.
We all know that Chief is responsible for our beautiful new building, but what many people don’t know is that Chief’s passion for our well-being is integrated throughout every room. Having witnessed the toll stress can take on officers’ health, Chief implemented wellness initiatives to prioritize both physical and mental health. WPD Officers now complete physical fitness tests twice a year and have access to extensive mental health resources. You can rest assured that WPD Officers are fit for duty!
But Chief’s care extended far beyond our officers. He was the biggest champion for the unsung heroes behind the scenes—the call takers, the support staff, the ones who keep the gears turning. Chief always believed in placing the right person in the right role, recognizing that sometimes the right fit isn't a police officer but someone equally essential to the team.
We cannot say goodbye to Chief without also recognizing his wife, RaeAnn Arnold as well, for she is just as much a part of this family as he is. Police wives have a tough job, but RaeAnn is the hardest working police wife we’ve known! She showed up early and stayed late to every event, helping with setting up and cleaning up. She formed a group for our officer’s wives to build camaraderie and support and was our fiercest Facebook supporter 😉. She has a heart of gold and cares about our police family!💙
Chief and RaeAnn have made the Weatherford Police Department a better place and we are forever grateful for the impact their lives have had on each one of us. Because of Chief, we know what excellence is, and we will not accept anything less for our community!
