Be aware of the enhanced possibility of severe thunderstorms in Central NY. Have a plan and make sure your yard and property is prepared for high winds and possible flooding.
*Please share*: Strong to severe thunderstorms will develop by noon/early afternoon near Lake Erie and spread eastward to central NY by late afternoon and early evening. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat, with the highest likelihood southeast of Buffalo and Watertown, in the Enhanced Risk area. Please monitor the weather today, have a way to receive watches and warnings, and a plan for seeking shelter if/when storms approach your location.

Outside of the thunderstorm threat today, winds will be strong, resulting in gusts 40 to 50 mph in the Niagara Frontier, as well as lakeshore flooding concerns for the east end of Lake Ontario. More at: weather.gov/buf
