We have a lot of exciting plans in the works for this year. The first week has been very productive from behind the scenes. Don't forget to come hear all about it on Friday at 4:45PM in the Cube!

Welcome back everyone! I hope you all have had a good summer, and I also hope you enjoy your time with the MET club this semester. My first order of business will be trying to hold a get together this week before Club Craze so that we can get a team together to promote our club and what we do. I will be trying to get in touch with all of you via e-mail shortly, but you can also PM me on my FB page (Donald Bullen) Cheers!

Be aware of the enhanced possibility of severe thunderstorms in Central NY. Have a plan and make sure your yard and property is prepared for high winds and possible flooding.

*Please share*: Strong to severe thunderstorms will develop by noon/early afternoon near Lake Erie and spread eastward to central NY by late afternoon and early evening. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat, with the highest likelihood southeast of Buffalo and Watertown, in the Enhanced Risk area. Please monitor the weather today, have a way to receive watches and warnings, and a plan for seeking shelter if/when storms approach your location.

Best way to find the most likely time for thunderstorms at your location: http://forecast.weather.gov/gridpoint.php?site=buf&TypeDefault=graphical

Outside of the thunderstorm threat today, winds will be strong, resulting in gusts 40 to 50 mph in the Niagara Frontier, as well as lakeshore flooding concerns for the east end of Lake Ontario. More at: weather.gov/buf

Fellow MET students:

I am Donald Bullen, the new President of this chapter (starting this Fall semester.) I have a few ideas that I want to try out for next year, but I would also like your input as well. I want this to be YOUR club. I am taking suggestions via my school email: dbull1@(you know the rest.)
Good luck on finals.

Donald Bullen
