Elgin Community Terrorized by ICE & Will be at Next Elgin City Council Meeting December 17
OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Today, the Elgin community was traumatized in an unthinkable way in violation of Human Rights.
The Coalition Against Broadview ICE Facility empahtically denounces the INHUNANE TERROR that wss carried out by ICE Agents that showed no regard for human life of the Elgin community.
At the same time, DHS Kristi Noem was in Chicago passing out Chritmas trees. We believe her actions and commitment to VIOLATE HUMAN RIGHTS, to put KIDS IN CAGES AND SEPARATE FAMILIES contracdicts what the Christian Holiday truly means peace on earth and to love immigrants. Lives were impacted with tear gas and rubber bullets in putting children and families at risk. Even futther, we CONDEMN the Elgin Police who stood by to watch the community under attack in aggressive posture of terror against civilians.
Our protesters and Elgin residents will be at the NEXT ELGIN CITY COUNCIL meeting on Decenber 17, 2025 to condemn the Mayor of Elgin and Elgin Police of their blatant complicity to not serve and protect the community that was under attack. Who do you protect, who do you serve?”

ABC 7 Chicago, “ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) – A federal agent was involved in a car crash Saturday in Elgin and several people were later treated for exposure to “chemical irritants” deployed during an immigration enforcement operation, local police said.

It was one of few federal immigration operations seen in the Chicago area the last few weeks since much of Border Patrol left the area.

There were certainly some tense moments between federal agents and many residents in the neighborhood, and at one point tear gas was deployed into the crowd, (2025, M.)
