Michelle runs Boston 2026

Michelle runs Boston 2026 I’m running the Boston marathon in 2026 for Tedy’s Team to celebrate and honor my dad, my brother, and Dave's dad Jack!

Hi everyone! Happy thanksgiving! Hope everyone had a great Turkey day. I am visiting my mom in Florida for the week- so thankful we get to spend time together and I’m happy to be out of the snow! My run today was the first time I ran more than 4 miles since surgery AND I graduated from run-walk intervals and ran the last 2.5 miles continuously! Woo hoo! Before that I had worked up to 9 minutes running, 1 minute walking intervals. No pain with running, knee feels good. Officially kicking off training for the Boston marathon on Monday- it’s so wild to me that I’m here- a few months ago I would not have believed it.

Kicking off my running training also means I’m kicking off fundraising too! If you want to support a great cause - Tedy’s Team- benefiting people who have had a stroke- I’d be grateful for any donation! Thank you so much for reading, supporting, and cheering me on!

The Cavs playing the Celtics tomorrow has the makings of an epic game! Cavs having a very good season so far, and the Celtics are well, the Celtics. This is a game that my dad and I would bet lobster rolls on and there would definitely be trash talking going on by my brother. I miss that so much. Will be watching tomorrow and thinking of them.🏀❤️

The 15-0 Cavaliers.
The defending champion Celtics.

What a matchup we have to lead off Tuesday night's action! 🍿

Donovan Mitchell and the Cavs look to become the 2nd team ever to start a season 16-0 as they visit Jayson Tatum and the 11-3 Celtics in East Group C Play tomorrow at 7:00pm/et on TNT. 🏆

Update on running today! 7 miles, longest run since 2018! 🎉. It’s a beautiful day here in Cleveland- I hope you are having a great Sunday! I’m off to find some lunch and take a shower.😀

I have a few more “thank you” notes for donations today! First, thank you to my cousin Julie Merrill! I miss my dad and Joe too ❤️. Both of them loved your sense of humor and looked forward to your visits. Second, thank you to Leanne Shott! I will definitely try to run like Bigfoot is chasing me 😂- I only wish we still had the sign from your race. It was a stellar drawing of Bigfoot, lol. And finally, thank you to Elizabeth Morgan-Mattiassi, one of my college roommates for your donation! I will definitely be wearing lots of layers, lol! Thanks everyone!

Thank you to Sally and Mark Crotty, Kristy DiLoreto, and Anne Matthews for your donations to Tedy's Team and my Boston Marathon run! I appreciate your support so much! In a week, I cannot believe how much support I've received from so many people. Y'all are awesome!

It is 23 weeks until Boston. Why does that number simultaneously sound so close and so far away?!?

Just finished my run for today. Tuesdays are for "speed" work, trying to convince and teach my body that I can run faster than a turtle. I ran a 5 minute warm up jog, followed by 11 x 1 minute intervals of faster running, with a 1 minute recovery jog in between each interval. It was a hard workout, but not impossible. Next run will be on Thursday - 3 miles is on the schedule. I am not loving how dark it gets so early. Runs with the sun shining are more my thing. But I am thankful that I am running pain free and getting stronger every time I run. (I am now knocking on wood, just in case!)

Happy running everyone! My mantra right now is "forward is a pace". 😀🐢🐢🐢

Hello everyone! It has been a week, right?
I coped a bit by running. This week in my training plan was 24 weeks to Boston. My long run today is 5 miles. I'm headed out soon - in Cleveland it is a sunny day, so I am hoping for an excellent run.

I have been blown away by everyone's generosity this week! We've raised over $700! Wow! Cannot thank everyone enough!

I mentioned this in my last post, but wanted to elaborate more here. For anyone who is able to donate $100 or more, I will send you a hand-painted welcome sign of your choice as a way to say thank you! I have uploaded pictures of them below. The rectangular signs are painted on up-cycled slate roof tiles. The round signs are made of wood. So once you donate, look through the choices, and send me a message indicating which sign you'd like! I mostly paint gnomes, because a home is not a home without a gnome!

Painting is another thing (besides running) that I love to do, and I find it very relaxing. I am not an expert artist by any means, but painting does bring me joy! And who knows - maybe you'll see something that would be a perfect Christmas gift for someone who has everything!

If you like the signs but don't see something that you like, let me know and I'll create a custom gnome sign for you. Because these take a lot of time, custom signs are available for a little bit higher donation of $250.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! And Go CAVS!! They are doing so well this season so far!
