Can anyone name all of the instructors as they round the mark?

A little throwback to last season's instructor training week race in the Mercuries as we count down just 25 days until the official start of EBSF programs!

Behind the scenes, we're hard at work getting the fleet ready for summer. Next up: launching the Mercury fleet. All nine boats will be going in this Sunday starting at 9 AM thanks to an incredible crew of volunteers.

Want to lend a hand? Meet us in the BYC yard Sunday morning! All are welcome.

05/04/2026

Today marks 50 days until the official start of EBSF Summer Sailing Programs and the 149th commissioning of the Bristol Yacht Club.

We're incredibly lucky to call BYC home and to have such an amazing venue for instructional sailing.

While EBSF is based at BYC, participation in our programs is open to all. You don't need to be a club member to join us, whether you're a junior sailor or an adult looking to get on the water.

See you soon!

Happy Earth Day from EBSF 🌎

We’re lucky to spend our days on the water, learning, racing and exploring one of our greatest natural resources. Taking care of it isn’t optional, it’s part of being a sailor.

Today is a reminder to get outside, be mindful of our impact, and leave the water a little better than we found it. 🌊🌊🌊

At East Bay Sailing Foundation, your support helps kids get out on the water, build confidence, learn teamwork, and develop skills that last a lifetime. We work hard to make sailing accessible to everyone through scholarships, community programs, and affordable instruction so financial barriers are never a reason a child can’t sail. Bristol, R.I. (February 10, 2026) — US Sailing is proud to announce the winners of the 2025 Community Sailing Awards, which will be presented virtually this year in a presentation at the end of the month. Community Sailing Awards

This year’s honorees represent a diverse range of achievements, including program innovation, leadership, and volunteer contributions:

Luray, a SAIL Magazine editor who was a staunch advocate and courageous promotor of community sailing, the Marty is presented to a recipient who has made outstanding and unselfish contributions to advance community sailing on a local and national level.

This year’s recipient of the Marty is Matthew Thompson of Wayzata Sailing in Minnesota for his enduring impact on his sailors, staff, and organization as well as a growing nationwide network of community sailing centers. As Chair of the Community Sailing Committee, Matt embodies the spirit of dedication and service that this prestigious award represents through his words, actions, and contributions to the sport of sailing. Matt’s contributions to the sport of sailing are numerous and uniquely varied – under his leadership, Wayzata Sailing has produced national champions while also growing scholarship programs and creative programming to introduce new communities to sailing. The Community Sailing Committee has welcomed new projects, initiatives, and membership and has become a group that attracts inspired individuals from all walks of community sailing. US Sailing celebrates Matt’s commitment to excellence in Community Sailing and looks forward to watching him grow the sport for years to come!

Happy National Girls & Women in Sports Day!

Today we celebrate the strength, leadership and confidence that girls and women build through sport.

At EBSF, we are proud to create opportunities for female sailors of all ages to learn, compete, lead and thrive on the water. From Harbor Mice to Junior Race Teams to our Women’s Sailing program, the pathway is strong and growing.

Sailing teaches resilience. It builds independence. It fosters teamwork and lifelong friendships. Most importantly, it empowers girls and women to take up space, trust their instincts and lead.

Here's to the sailors, coaches, mentors, and role models who continue to shape the future of our sport. We are proud to be part of it.
