Another Successful Raag-Rang Spring Concert – May 30
The Raag-Rang Spring Concert on May 30 was a wonderful success. Drawing an audience of 55–60 music lovers for a classical music concert on a Saturday afternoon is a significant achievement in New Jersey, especially when several other cultural events were taking place at the same time. Raag-Rang sincerely thanks the community for its continued support and enthusiasm for Indian classical music.
The concert opened with a soulful vocal recital by Indrani Chakrabarty, who presented Raag Madhuvanti in Jhap Taal, followed by a Drut Teentaal composition. She concluded her performance with a beautiful Khamaj thumri, leaving the audience deeply moved.
Abhishek Lahiri followed with an outstanding performance, beginning with Raag Puriya Kalyan and concluding with a delightful dhun in Misra Pilu. He was ably accompanied by Subrata Bhattacharyya. Their performance was warmly appreciated by the audience.
Raag-Rang extends heartfelt thanks to its dedicated volunteers—Khemraj and Arayna Singh, Sanchita Roy, Amitabha Pal, Shankhadip Chakrabarty, Aratrika Dey for being the Emcees, Shobha Singh, and many others—whose efforts helped make the event a success.
Special thanks also go to Mrinalini Ayachit of Vibrnz for ticketing and flyer, and to Sunil Nair and Anuradha Krishnan for their excellent assistance with sound.
