Harrison County Schools was 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 at ALA WV Rhododendron Girls State 2026! 🌸

Students from all Harrison County high schools took part in this top 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 and 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 program.

During the week, students ran for office, served in elected roles, took part in government activities, and built strong leadership skills. Several Harrison County students were also named 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀 and were chosen to interview for a chance to represent West Virginia as Senators at Girls Nation.

We are so proud of these amazing young women and thankful for everyone who helped make this experience possible! 👏

On May 21, Bridgeport Kiwanis had the pleasure to award Jacob Keener, a graduating Key Clubber at BHS, the Susan G. Yurko Kiwanis Scholarship at the senior assembly. Jacob served as a Key Club officer for multiple years and took part in service projects from assisting with the Grandfamilies program, to shoeboxes at Christmas, to serving meals to others in need— in addition to being an outstanding athlete and student. (Not to mention his mom is an incredible Key Club advisor to our students!) Congrats, Jacob!

J.F. Allen Company awards our top bell ringing service group with a $1,000 donation to their organization.

The 2025 Red Kettle Campaign top earning group was the Kiwanis Club of Bridgeport.

We are grateful for the continued support of both J.F. Allen Company & Kiwanis Club of Bridgeport!

Bridgeport Kiwanis has had a busy few weeks! We had Major Sikes from the The Salvation Army Clarksburg WV speak at our meeting and present a generous check from J.F. Allen Company for our bellringing efforts over Christmas. 🔔

Last week, we joined our BHS Key Clubbers to help with the Harrison County Casa Program 5K! 🏃‍♂️

And tomorrow we’re headed to the United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties’ Resilience Collaborative’s Transitional House to plant some raised beds 🌱

Next week, we’ll be awarding the Susan G. Yurko Scholarship to a graduating Bridgeport High School Key Clubber. 🥇
