New updated logo for Park City Conservancy that celebrates our unique Bridgeport parklands and shoreline!

Park City Conservancy volunteers helped w**d and clean up more than eight of the bioswales along Seaview Ave in Bridgeport on Aug 4th. We collected over 7 full bags of w**ds and litter! Bioswales divert, collect and drain storm water before it ends up in Long Island Sound. The job continues through to the fall. Please join us on our next clean-up which will be posted here and on our website.

Bioswales huge benefits locally. Not without maintenance needs to remove trash and unwanted w**ds.

At first glance, the shallow, planted channels lining New Haven streets may look like simple garden beds, but the bioswales are designed to capture and filter stormwater, functioning as critical components of the city’s green infrastructure. Like much of that infrastructure, however, their success depends on unglamorous, ongoing upkeep — work that students from YSE’s Urban and Water Learning Communities are supporting through a joint volunteer cleanup effort.
