Attention Brevard Band alumni, the BHS End of the Year Band Banquet is taking place at Brevard Music Center at 6:00 PM this evening. I hope to see a lot of alumni at this banquet today. Hopefully I'll see y'all later today. Go Big Blue!!

Another absolutely amazing concert brought to you by Brevard Bands. I wasn't able to see the 6th and 7th grade bands, but the 8th grade band and the BHS Wind Symphony were absolutely fantastic. Shout out to my fellow college colleague Eli Henry for his amazing guest conducting performance as well. Brevard Bands are at an all time high right now. We are officially back in the golden era of band activities here in Brevard. Go Big Blue!!

Attention Brevard High Band alumni, come join us tomorrow night at the Brevard College Porter Center for the Brevard Bands Spring Band concert. If you want to contribute to the association, this is one easy way to do it. The Brevard High Wind Symphony and Middle School Bands have been on a roll these last few years with STELLAR performances across all levels. You REALLY don't want to miss this show. Come if you can, and go Big Blue!!

Congratulations to Brevard Middle School Band Director, Topher Kane, for winning the BMS Teacher of the Year Award. He's absolutely one of the best teachers Transylvania County Schools has. Long live music education. Go Big Blue!!

Former Brevard High School drum major and clarinetist, Mya Parlier, will be making history with the Western Carolina University Wind Ensemble. She will be traveling to the University of South Florida (as well as Norcross and Tarpon Springs High Schools) with the WCU Wind Ensemble as they play at the CBDNA South Division Conference a week from today. She is in an ensemble that was one of 6 college bands (out of 27 applicants) to play at this very same conference. My fellow Blue Devils, let's wish Mya and the rest of the WCU Wind Ensemble the best of luck (their program is absolutely stacked). Go Big Blue!!

Wow. Just wow. What an absolutely UNBELIEVABLE afternoon. The 2026 All-District clinic took place yesterday (at the time of the post's release) at my place of study, Western Carolina University. I am absolutely stunned with just how awesome these performances were. As someone who's represented both Brevard Middle and High Schools in this clinic for 5 years, seeing so many people from our great school carry on the torch is just so freaking inspiring. To all of the Blue Devils who auditioned for and played in the bands, the biggest congratulations goes out to you guys. You're carrying on tradition here in Brevard, and I want y'all to NEVER forget this weekend. Shout out to Henry Mortensen and Tyler Studt as they gear up for All-State band auditions next month. Go Big Blue!!

Congratulations to all of our Brevard High School Band students who have been working so hard to earn a spot in the 2026 All District Honor Band! All of the students who spent time preparing, grew tremendously as musicians throughout this process. Seven BHS students were chosen to participate this year and will meet at WCU on February 6-7th. Two of those students are eligible to audition for the North Carolina All State Honor Band in March. Congratulations!!!
