Lantern Network

Lantern Network Our mission is to strengthen America by providing examples of success stories, roadmaps, & resources. The Lantern Network is needed now more than ever. Mr.

The Lantern Network is creating an opportunity for you to help light the path towards success for underrepresented, high-potential youth of color. This audience is highly talented, capable and motivated, but lack visibility or access to guidance, career opportunities, mentors, apprenticeships and other resources. Over the past year, the founders have poured their passion into laying groundwork for

The Lantern Network, with the goal of unleashing the vast potential of their target audience. Their vision draws inspiration from the network of glowing Underground Railroad lanterns, that led slaves towards safe houses and freedom. Today’s Lantern Network provides virtual safehouses and guidance to people escaping academic and economic slavery. We will fulfill our mission through our seven programs supported by three pillars (Inspiration, Development, Propulsion). We’ve recently launched two of seven programs:

Mr Russell (Inspiration): A creative project for our Lantern Network CTV channel. Think of it like an Urban PBS. Many people are lost. They haven’t learned to deal with and heal from their struggles and poor choices. Many children and young adults in urban communities have belief systems that are not aligned with their highest good. Russell is an amazing character that TLN will produce videos to be aired on The Lantern Network platforms to inspire young people to take a better path. https://youtu.be/2EQcd41RopQ

Streaming Stories (Inspiration): A web series featuring successful Black Americans across an exceptionally wide spectrum of professional pursuits—from accountant to zoologist, and everyone in between. The Lantern Network’s streaming content is instrumental in demonstrating how real people with real stories overcome obstacles and achieve personal goals. Mentoring (Development): We recently launched our Mentoring program where we aspire to lead the next generation along the path towards economic freedom. We partnered with HBCU Ambassadors to pair mentors with highly motivated mentees. We are offering them guidance, support, elevated skill sets and encouragement specific to their needs and goals.

55% of college students nationwide have no mentor.

And yet — the bridge between student life and professional life has never been harder to cross alone.

College is transformative. But transformation without guidance can quickly become overwhelming. First-generation students especially know this feeling — the sense that everyone else seems to know something you don't. That there's a room somewhere, and no one gave you the door.

That's exactly what The Lantern Network was built to change.

When you join our Mentorship Program, you don't just get a mentor. You step into a community that actively looks out for your next opportunity — one-on-one guidance, professional development, financial literacy, and curated internship connections with companies. Because access shouldn't depend on who you already know.

You deserve to be among the students who find that mentorship is a path to success.

An Evening That Sparked Something Bigger | Vision Dinner Highlights

What happens when a room is filled with people who care deeply about growth, opportunity, and building something meaningful?

Our Vision Dinner brought together mentors, partners, and emerging talent for an evening of real conversations, shared experiences, and a collective commitment to what’s ahead. It wasn’t just about reflecting on progress—it was about aligning on what comes next.

From powerful stories to intentional connections, this night captured what The Lantern Network is all about: creating spaces where people can grow, be challenged, and step into new opportunities with confidence.

This is just a glimpse of what we’re building—and we’re only getting started.

Missed this one? Don’t miss the next.

Your story could be the one that changes everything for a college student who doesn't yet believe they belong.

We all know what it felt like — that moment in college when you weren't sure if your dream was actually possible for someone like you. When you needed to see proof that the path was real.

That proof is a person. And that person could be you.

The Lantern Network's Streaming Stories series features real professionals sharing real career journeys — the wins, the setbacks, the pivots, and the moments that defined them. Because when a first-generation student, a young entrepreneur, or an underrepresented college graduate sees someone who looks like them thriving in a field they love — everything shifts.

If you've walked a path that a young person needs to see — in tech, business, healthcare, the arts, entrepreneurship, or beyond — we want to hear from you.

We don't need a perfect story. We just need an honest one.

74% of young people don’t feel confident in their financial education.

And by college, that uncertainty shows up in real decisions — loans, credit, money.

That’s why The Lantern Network builds financial literacy into mentorship.

Josiah Campbell (CFE) helps our mentees prepare for more than just the opportunity — but what comes after.

The Gap Isn’t Closing on Its Own

These numbers point to more than a problem—they reflect a growing gap between potential and preparation.

Students are navigating critical transitions without the guidance and real-world exposure they need to succeed.

This is where mentorship changes the trajectory.
Help us close the gap.

One great donation changes a moment. Monthly giving changes everything.

When you become a monthly supporter of The Lantern Network, you don't just give once — you sustain a young person's entire journey. From their first mentorship session to their first job offer.

For as little as $10 a month, you become the ongoing force behind someone's future.

Our monthly supporters make long-term planning possible. They're the reason we can build programs instead of just hoping for one-time miracles.

Will you become one? https://www.lanternnetwork.org/give-monthly

Talent is distributed equally. Opportunity is not. That's why we exist.

On April 25th, The Lantern Network held its very first Vision Dinner in Detroit — and the room said everything.

It was full of people who get it. People who understand that closing the gap between potential and possibility takes more than inspiration. It takes structure. Mentorship. Access. And community.

To every guest, donor, sponsor, and partner who showed up — you invested in more than a program. You invested in the trajectory of a generation.

380 graduates. Internships at hedge funds. Students hired by our corporate partners. First-generation young people walking into rooms they were told weren't for them — and thriving.

This is what happens when access meets preparation. And when someone believes enough to invest.

We are growing. We are just getting started. And we need more believers in the room.

16 million young people in America are growing up without a mentor. That gap isn't just a number — it's a young person who never got the introduction, the advice, or the open door.

You can change that.

You don't need a perfect story. You just need the willingness to show up for someone who is still writing theirs. 🔦

Behind every great career is someone who believed in it first.

At The Lantern Network, our mentors are professionals just like you — people who've navigated the climb and want to reach back and help the next generation do the same.

Here's what our mentors say it takes: 1–2 hours a month and the willingness to share what you know.

Here's what it gives back: purpose, connection, and the knowledge that your experience is actively changing a young person's trajectory.

We're currently accepting mentor applications across industries nationwide.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month — and at The Lantern Network, we know wellbeing shapes the future.

Our mentors do more than guide careers. They listen, show up, and support the whole person — not just the resume.

This month, we’re celebrating mentors who lead with both wisdom and heart.
