🦇 As Halloween approaches, we think the only thing scary about senior living is how many myths are out there. 🕷️

For example, many people worry it will be difficult to make friends in a new community. In fact, most older adults residing in a life plan community report improved social wellness, according to a recent study by the Mather Institute on Aging.

EverTrue communities offer frequent activities and diverse opportunities for social engagement between neighbors — in addition to the many clubs and interest groups residents can join or start.

Chuck, a Navy veteran, joined the EverTrue Meramec Bluffs veterans' organization when he became a resident and made many friends who had similar experiences. It contributes to his community feeling like home.

As a person advances through the stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia, their ability to communicate will change. For loved ones and caregivers avoid to frustration, it is important to understand the progression and how to most effectively build communication with someone who is living with Alzheimer’s. 💜

What an incredible evening!

Last month, supporters gathered for the EverTrue Ageless Gala and helped raise more than $330,000 to support programs and services that help older adults live life to the fullest.

We were also honored to recognize our 2026 Ageless Remarkable awardees: Dr. James and Donna Knight, Dale A. Meyer, Dr. Karl Wilson, Kathie and Richard Winter, and Evelyn Brandt Thomas. Their contributions continue to strengthen the communities we serve.

Thank you to all who made this unforgettable evening possible. Together, we're creating greater access to housing, care and services for older adults throughout our region.

Thank you, St. Louis Development Corporation - SLDC, for creating this amazing video to showcase EverTrue Crossroads at Bevo Mill as a winner of the 2026 Development of the Year Award. We are so honored to be recognized alongside Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Center St. Louis for strengthening St. Louis neighborhoods and economy.

EverTrue Crossroads at Bevo Mill is the result of a nearly decade-long, $22 million partnership bringing mixed-income senior housing to Bevo and creating opportunities for older adults to age with dignity and connection.

While it is true that some cognitive abilities naturally change with age, research shows that older adults can (and should) continue learning new skills because it helps improve memory, reasoning, processing speed and cognitive flexibility.

Getting older doesn’t mean you’re done learning. EverTrue residents have opportunities learn new things daily, discover new passions and pursue their interests, because we believe in wellness — mind, body and spirit. Your brain doesn’t need you to be perfect; it needs you to stay curious.

We know that thinking about senior living can come with a lot of questions... and sometimes a few fears too, like: Will I make friends? Will I feel lonely? Can I still be independent? What if downsizing feels overwhelming?
