If you can believe it, we were very disappointed with how warm it was this weekend. 🤣 We were supposed to earn our Polar Bear awards this weekend but because it got above freezing we didn't get that opportunity.

It doesn't matter we had a blast anyway!!

Thank you to all of the scouts that came out to celebrate and participate in the Scout Sunday service today at Independence United Methodist Church!

There were representatives from Pack 297, Pack 652, Troop 652G, Troop 652, Troop 811, Crew 652 and Crew 555.

It was a fantastic example of scouts being Reverent.

A scout is Reverent.

Scouting was well represented at St Basil's Scout Sunday today.

We ended up not camping out over night, but when we arrived at the Klondike on Saturday morning and the actual temperature was -14°, we knew we made the right choice not to go tent camping. 😁😁

We had so much fun and the girls were able to show their skills at first aid, knot tying, volcano building, an obstacle course, ice cream making, archery, an egg drop, orienteering, tripod lashing, Dutch oven cooking, and building an apparatus to transport an acorn.

The girls can make a mean Dutch oven, homemade mac and cheese with ham and bacon!

It never got above 9° but the scouts did a great job with staying warm by using their winter camping skills.

Ask the girls about their adventure at the LEC Dinosaur Klondike next time you see them!!

We had a blast at the troop holiday party at Brunswick Automart Arena ice skating rink.
We ended up having to eat our pizza as a winter picnic in the parking lot but the scouts had a blast skating and exchanging secret Santa gifts.
Thank you Mrs Christian for your wonderful gifts to the scouts every year!
