SEPTEMBER IS SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH. ❤️🇺🇸

For many of us, September is just another month on the calendar. But for families who have lost someone, for Veterans carrying invisible wounds, and for those who have struggled in silence, this month means something much deeper.

The numbers are heartbreaking.

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, 6,398 Veterans died by su***de in 2023 — an average of approximately 18 Veterans every single day. (VA News)

That’s 18 families receiving a phone call that changes their lives forever.
18 empty chairs.
18 birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries that will never be the same.

And behind every statistic is a person — someone who served, someone who was someone’s child, parent, spouse, sibling, friend, or battle buddy.

One of the most important things we can do is pay attention to the people around us.

Check on your Veteran friends.
Call the person who has been quiet lately.
Invite someone to dinner.
Ask, “How are you really doing?” — and be willing to listen to the answer.

You don’t have to have the perfect words. You don’t have to fix everything. Sometimes simply reminding someone “You don’t have to go through this alone” can matter more than you realize.

And if you’re a Veteran struggling right now, please know that asking for help isn’t weakness. You are not a burden, and your story isn’t over.

This September, let’s do more than talk about su***de prevention.

Let’s check in. Let’s listen. Let’s show up. Let’s keep our Veterans connected.

WitchDoctor and Longshot have less than 150 miles left of their hike. Along the way, they have connected with Vets and given them their time and resources to make a difference in their lives and they are touching so many people with their story. Their mission on the trail is almost done but their story is far from over. They will still need your support when the backpacks come off. We need to continue to support this mission for other vets and let them know they are not alone. Their story matters too.

Because 18 a day is not just a statistic. It’s 18 too many.

🇺🇸 You are not alone. You are worth staying for.

Happy Saturday beautiful people! I’m sorry for not updating in a while!
Life can get so busy.

Between work, family, responsibilities, deadlines, and everything else life throws our way, it’s easy to put ourselves last. We convince ourselves that there will be time later to slow down, breathe, and take care of our mental health. But sometimes, “later” keeps getting pushed further and further away.

Out on the trail, things feel different.

Hiking reminds us to slow down. To take a deep breath. To notice the trees, the mountains, the wildlife, the sound of the wind, and the simple beauty that surrounds us. It reminds us that we don’t always have to be rushing toward the next thing.

Sometimes we just need to stop and appreciate where we are.

The trail is a reminder that taking care of our mental health isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. We need moments to disconnect from the noise, reconnect with ourselves, and remember what truly matters.

So take the hike. Take the walk. Sit outside. Put your phone down. Take a breath.

Life will still be waiting when you’re done. ❤️🥾🌲

These guys have less then 300 miles left and are hiking their way through Pennsylvania. They still need help and support to finish these next couple of weeks strong. Please like and share this post. Please donate whatever you can. Any help is so greatly appreciated.

Good evening, beautiful humans! 🇺🇸

Quick WitchDoctor & LongShot update!

The boys are still headed SOBO - southbound for the non-trail folks.

Back in July they flip-flopped from Harper’s Ferry up to Katahdin, turned south, and started hiking their way BACK to Harper’s Ferry.

And now…

⛰️✌🏼548 MILES LEFT.

Latest from WitchDoctor:

“Stayed the night in Cheshire, MA. Headed to Dalton, MA to meet up with Einstein.”

Different direction. Same mission.

Still stacking miles. Still leaning on trail family. Still showing what veterans helping veterans can look like.

The finish is starting to feel real now.

548 miles. One foot in front of the other. Let’s bring these boys home. 🇺🇸

Good evening beautiful people 🖤

Less than 400 MILES to go. You read that right!!! They are almost done with Vermont and will head into Massachusetts in the next couple of days.

They are almost done and the healing that’s been witnessed in WitchDoctor (Aaron) has been astounding and so inspirational.

The people that have been touched by his journey and brutal honesty has been amazing. They are essentially famous on the trail at this point for their healing energy and positive attitudes. Both WitchDoctor and Longshot are legends!!

But the journey is not over yet and we still need your help to keep them moving! They need food and rest days that are not cheap up north. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Every like, every share just spreads this mission even further to reach more Vets in need of this program.

Good morning, beautiful humans! 🇺🇸✌🏼

Somewhere in New Hampshire, Witch Doctor here is doing what hikers do best, flagging down a ride into town before some nasty weather rolls in for the next 48 hours. When you're out on the trail, getting to town isn't always straightforward: hitchhiking, shuttles, whatever gets you there.

And honestly? Getting to town is a lot like life. A lot like mental health. There's no one-size-fits-all. You find what works for you, and you make it work. You grind, you adapt, you do what you have to do to make yourself better and healthier. Hitchhiking is just another tool in the kit — same as therapy, same as exercise, same as a good support system. Different tools for different miles.

Witch Doctor, Longshot, and the crew are still out there grinding through the Appalachian Trail — SOBO from Katahdin, with roughly 700 miles left to reach Harpers Ferry and close out the thru-hike. Staying sane, staying healthy, staying moving.

Keep following along — we appreciate every one of you. See y'all soon! 🥾🌲

The smile and the light in his eyes tells the whole story! Sundays are not for rest as WitchDoctor and Longshot make their way through New Hampshire. The mountains continue to test them and push them to their limits but they are not letting that stop the mission. They still need your support to help them push through the next couple weeks as they continue through this rough terrain!
Remember, $300 helps keep a veteran moving and $75 owns a resupply.

Every dollar matters and we appreciate everyone’s support! Please like and share 🇺🇸
