There is something absolutely magical about a new outfit! It doesn’t matter if you’re 35 or 55, slip into something that fits just right and suddenly you’re not just running errands, you’re making an entrance.
The grocery store becomes a runway. The office becomes a stage. You catch your reflection in a window and think, “Okay. I still got it”.✨

Hello Faithful friends and followers of MHI. I hope this post finds you well!

Two doll requests have been filled this year - Yay, what a blessing! At the same time, I've turned down one or two doll requests for much younger girls who'd be a great fit for a Bitty Baby. So I'm addressing a ministry need...

If you know of someone who'd love rehoming (donating) a previously loved AG Bitty Baby doll, we'd be grateful to have several in our collection. Also, their clothing accessories would be a true blessing.

Thanks a ton! We appreciate you.

The woman who started it all ✨

On , we recognize trailblazing women like Pleasant Rowland, former teacher and author and the creator of American Girl dolls and books that have inspired generations of children to learn about American history for over 35 years.

Rowland started the Pleasant Company® and brought The American Girls Collection® to market in 1986, initially launching three dolls with accessories and books telling their origin story. Five years later, the company launched new dolls with various backgrounds and carefully researched backstories set in different eras and towns in American history.

To protect the brand, Rowland secured trademarks for the Pleasant Company®, The American Girls Collection®, and individual doll names. The Pleasant Company® and The American Girls Collection® have also registered a multitude of creative works with the U.S. Copyright Office as part of their IP management strategy. In addition to doll designs and books with illustrations, the companies have registered other visual arts and motion picture works, such as “The American Girls Postcard Collection,” “The American Girls Collection Puzzle,” and “AGTV.”

Rowland’s vision remains relevant today as a way to understand and engage with our past and present.

Christmas Greetings from the Heart of Madison’s Hope, Inc!

Merry Christmas, friends! This season, I am filled with gratitude and awe as I reflect on what God is doing through this ministry. Since taking over as Executive Director, I’ve witnessed firsthand the way a simple, preloved doll; lovingly restored and repurposed—can carry a message of hope, love and goodness into the lives of young girls who need it most.

This Christmas, I’m overjoyed to share that six beautiful dolls found their forever homes with precious girls who needed a little extra light in their lives. Each doll, with its carefully stitched details and heartfelt touch, is a tangible reminder of God’s love and the beauty of second chances.

As we continue to grow, I am humbled by the support and encouragement we’ve received from so many of you. Your prayers, donations and belief in this mission are making an impact.

From our family here in South Dakota to yours, may your Christmas be filled with love, peace and the warmth of knowing how much you are cherished. Let’s step into the new year with hope and a commitment to sharing love wherever it’s needed most.

Blessings,
Lindsey Rokusek
Executive Director, Madison’s Hope, Inc.

Hello everyone. I’m Lindsey Rokusek, Shari’s great niece and the new Executive Director of MHI. I’m thankful for Shari (and the Colorado board of directors) for entrusting me with her mission and passion for dolls and helping girls in need.

A BIG BIG thank you to all who have donated, volunteered, prayed over and helped make MHI what it is today - I’m excited to continue the mission and in time, bring hope to girls in need.

Moving forward, I will not be active on this platform, but this page will be live and up to date with our contact info. This will ensure people can find us and make a connection if they’d like.

If you’re active on social media, please join us on Instagram ( - our new home for MHI).

For those of you who would appreciate a connection within the ministry, please consider sending me an email ([email protected]) with your full name, birthday (if you so choose) and what talents, gifts and/or hobby’s you would love to share with MHI. (It takes a village, so nothing is off limits). My plan is to start sending a quarterly email (maybe monthly, eventually) and I would love to include all who want to be included.

Thank you for being here. I look forward to linking arms with you.

You’re a blessing.

In Christ, Lindsey
