Our girls got to tour inside the Kinzua Dam. They learned about the importance of the opening and closing of the gates, the ecosystems in and around the water, the importance of communication, and they were able to tour the control room.
We went deep down into depths of the dam, a total of 18 flights of stairs, where we were able to view the pipelines and sub pumps. They learn about what career paths they could take to be able to work at the Dam including environmental science and engineering, civil engineering, and becoming a park Ranger 💚🤎

RIP to the legend, Dolly Parton. Dolly was a lifetime Girl Scout member since 2007. She was an amazing Girl Scout role model and we should all strive to follow Dolly’s values. We will always love you 🩷

While her mom is serving up some delicious Friday Fish Fry’s at the Derrick City Diner, Avery is busy serving up knuckle sandwiches 😂

Thank you Coach Mike at Real Mount'n Jiu-Jitsu for teaching our girls some self defense concepts and techniques 💪
We learned about:
☑️Situational awareness
☑️Speaking up and using your voice if someone is making you uncomfortable
☑️Keeping a safe distance
☑️Balance stance, blocking strikes, and knee strikes
The Girl Scout moto is “Be Preparedt” and classes like this can prepare our girls for tough situations. 👊

🇺🇸Happy Independence Day🇺🇸
The America 250 parade was one to remember. Before the parade began some of our girls got to talk to Army men and veterans about what it means to defend our country ❤️🤍💙
We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable day celebrating our 250 years of independence and continued freedom 🦅

🏕️💚Girl Scout troop camping fosters independence, builds confidence, and gives girls memories that will last a lifetime 🤎
Our girls have spent the last couple of meetings preparing for our first troop overnight camping experience. We’ve discussed safety rules, packing gear, and next week we will learn how to build a fire 🔥 and tie some handy knots 🪢
Girls were asked to bring a sleeping bag to our last meeting so we could learn how to properly fold and store our sleeping gear, but of course, this just meant that the girls wanted to spend the entire meeting in their sleeping bags😂 Even though this wasn’t the purpose of bringing the bags, it was very sweet to see that, on their own volition, they decided to lay out together, laugh, chat, and giggle while they waited for the meeting to officially start
Honestly, our troop is always giving green flags ❇️
