As we get further into hurricane season, it is important that everyone remains weather aware and prepared. One of those ways is our weekly Manatee Skywarn radio nets.

Please join us every Thursday for the Manatee Skywarn net on the MAN-2 repeater at 2000 hours, or 8pm, local time.

The MAN-2 KM4EC repeater is on 146.820 (- offset/100 Hz tone), please feel free to check-in if you have a HAM license, or just listen in.

If you are not a trained Skywarn Spotter and would like to become one, visit the National Weather Service
Skywarn website.

The Tampa Bay Skywarn Page is https://www.weather.gov/tbw/skywarn and there is a 1-hour recorded program where you can easily receive your Basic Skywarn Training certificate.

Every week the ARES team prepares for emergency communications with two different practice sessions, or radio nets, which lets our operators test their equipment, radio skills, and net control.

🚨 Safety Fest is almost here!

Join us this Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a free, family-friendly event open to all ages.

We still have a few spots available for our interactive learning stations and tours—registration is required for those. Sign up at mymanatee.org/safetyfest.

Parking is only available in the grassy right-of-way areas surrounding the Public Safety Center along 47th Terrace East and 24th Street East. Please use designated areas only. The event entrance will be on 47th Terrace East.

Today is the day that the 24-hour "Day of Giving Challenge" begins at noon

We are asking for your support during the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s 2026 Giving Challenge. We receive no government funding and all our equipment, purchased, developed, installed and mobilized, is donated to Manatee County.

Please consider making an on-line donation to the Manatee County Emergency Support Group between noon on Wednesday, April 15 and noon on Thursday, April 16. Your donation is tax deductible, and all donations up to $100 will be matched 100% by The Patterson Foundation.

WCF SECTION PRESS RELEASE #26-15 - 3/24/26: SPRING 2026 ARRL WCF SECTION ARES MEETING RECORDING NOW AVAILABLE

On Saturday March 21, 2026, at 1900 EDT, the Spring 2026 ARRL West Central Florida Section ARES Meeting was held via Zoom. The video recording of the meeting is now available for viewing on the Section YouTube channel at https://youtube.com/.

Also on the Section YouTube channel are the presentations from each TECHCON since the 7th Annual TEHCON in 2021, and now there are playlists for each TECHCON since 2021. There is now another playlist for Section ARES Meetings that were recorded.
