898 pieces of plastic, one turtle, one month old! Just let that sit in. The team at had this turtle brought in recently from our area. They discovered 898 pieces of plastic inside.

Apologies for not having as much activity on the page as we would like. Our admin (Janelle) had a baby boy born in March and well…after a tough pregnancy and having a new baby; her extra time has been limited. However, Janelle has continued her mission cleaning up around her own neighborhood on little walks at least 1-2x week! *We challenge everyone (especially after a busy holiday weekend) to go out and pick up around where you live at the very least! There is still so much trash in the Palma Sola area off manatee and down 75th. Soda/beer cans, plastic bottles and plastic packaging is everywhere. Thanks to all who have and continue to pick up on a routine basis!

It will be the epic battle of the two cities! Residents in which city will pick up the most trash? Will it be Bradenton or Palmetto? You will want to participate in the Environmental Cleanup between the cities on March 5 at 9 a.m. Team Bradenton, show up at the Riverwalk Splash Park. Team Palmetto, meet at the boat ramp.
