Folks, our National Parks are under siege and this time, the Trump Administration and Department of Interior officials are openly supporting transferring public lands to private developers. Yosemite National Park belongs to all Americans - yet the administration wants to transfer a swath of it to a real estate private equity firm. As NOTUS reports, “If the deal goes through, the Trump administration would be breaking with 150 years of American precedent at the birthplace of the national park system. The federal government has historically strived to expand the crown-jewel national parks, not give up land within them.” We need Congress to stand up against the sale or swapping of our public lands. Period.

Taking care of what you love is at the core of our conservation message at Mountain Mamas. That’s why we’re furious.
Families pay entrance fees at Yellowstone and Glacier believing that money will help keep trails open, repair roads, maintain bathrooms, and make our parks safer.
Instead, more than 1,500 National Park Service projects nationwide - representing more than $400 million in repairs - have been pushed aside while resources are directed toward White House and Washington, D.C., projects.
Our parks are not a piggy bank for political vanity projects.

While Washington gets upgrades, our parks wait.
Glacier and Yellowstone already face more than $1.3 billion in combined deferred maintenance.
And this isn’t just about numbers on a spreadsheet.
It means delayed repairs. Deteriorating facilities. Fewer services. Longer waits. And fewer staff to care for the places our families love.
No one should be ok with Yellowstone foregoing toilet paper, garbage bags and a necessary roof repair while those funds are going to coat statues in gold in D.C. We don’t even know everything that is being stalled in Glacier.
In Montana, we teach our kids to take care of what belongs to all of us.
Washington should do the same.

For our kids, for the streams they'll fish in someday, and for the quiet backcountry that makes this place home, this is worth five minutes of our time.

The USDA has moved to repeal the 25-year-old Roadless Rule, threatening protections on roughly 45 million acres of national forest lands.

🐻 As a mom, I constantly think about the world we are leaving behind for our children and future generations. Our wild places—and the incredible wildlife that call them home—exist today because of thoughtful, deliberate protections. Montana is home to a thriving grizzly bear population precisely because the Endangered Species Act stepped in to guard them. Now, big changes are on the horizon. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing changes to Section 4(d), which would hand grizzly management over to the states. If we want our kids and grandkids to inherit a truly wild Montana, we need to ensure future management keeps these vital protections strong. Let's keep changing local politics and funding shortages out of this critical conservation. 🌲✨
