Windhorse Equine Learning Windhorse Equine Learning is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides equine-assisted learning (EAL) experiences to Bozeman-area youth.

With the horse as partner, kids and teens build confidence and self-esteem, while developing interpersonal skills and learning about leadership, partnership, communication, responsibility, empathy, trust and more. Windhorse programs are conducted in the spring and fall with summer camps in partnership with Montana State University and the Gallatin Valley YMCA.

June Volunteer Spotlight: Joli!

There are plenty of hats to be worn for nonprofit organizations like Windhorse and while most of our volunteers support us in our programs or barn work, some of our volunteers help us with back end tasks. Joli is currently attending MSU and is volunteering with us to gain experience in managing events.

“I grew up in Rochester, NY and now I’m a senior at MSU studying Business Management & Sustainability. I’ve been riding horses (doing jumpers) my whole life and have been working around adaptive horsemanship / EAL for many years. I love being able to spend time with the horses & kids at Windhorse in my free time.”

We are so grateful to our volunteers. We couldn’t accomplish all we do, in and out of the barn, without them!

Spring 2026 classes came to a close last week and all of us at Windhorse had such a blast! This season we hosted class levels 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7 as well as a mindfulness course for teens taught by our very own director Darcy and Windhorse’s first homeschool class.

Thank you to our incredible PATH certified instructors Kate and Emma, and our newest program coordinator Nick for leading our young learners, to our dedicated volunteers, and of course our steady and consistent equine partners. We couldn’t do what we do without all of you! We had such a bright and vibrant group of participants, we hope to see you all back for summer camps!

Join us at this Wednesday for Cocktails for a Cause! 15% of the day’s proceeds will benefit Windhorse’s programs so you can quench your thirst and show your support at the same time. Come between 6-8 to chat with our team and love on our Windhorse Mini Ambassadors Wonder Bread and Kiki.

🎬 Reminder!
Windhorse’s special film screening of the documentary Rescued Hearts is TOMORROW. If you haven’t grabbed your ticket for Rescued Hearts there’s still time but we only have 100 to sell so get yours before seats are sold out!

Join us at Kiln Bozeman 219 N 19th Ave. The night will open at 6pm with Provecho Taco Truck and complimentary beer and wine. The film will begin promptly at 6:30.
