Meet the children of the Karamojong!

These children are being giving the opportunity to have an education by being sponsored with Transformed Communities International, an organization reaching these outcast people with love and light of the gospel. They are helping to meet needs and one is to give the next generation a chance to learn skills to help not only within the tribe but also in the outside communities as well. Some things these kids are learning are how to read, write, and speak in both their native language and English, simple math, agriculture practices, and the Bible.

They are hoping to double the amount of kids sponsered to be able to have uniforms and there own Bibles to learn from(currently only about 5 children have an English Bible and a few more have one in there own language).

God calls them blessed and in favor of Him. What a beautiful picture to know that success in God’s eyes is not what is success to ours. Let this be a reminder to see these people as blessed to God. Let us see the value in these as we live our lives as followers of Jesus.

Tim Pearson is on the ground in Uganda, capturing moments that tell powerful stories! 📸

In classrooms with simple walls and limited resources in a remote location of the world, we’re witnessing something incredible—children eager to learn, listening closely to their teachers, and dreaming about what their future could become. Their smiles, their focus, and their determination remind us why this work matters.

These photos are windows into lives full of hope and potential. Every face represents a story, a prayer, and a future worth investing in.

While Tim continues documenting the work happening here, we invite you to pause and pray for these children, pray for their education, their health, and the opportunities ahead of them.

Our ministry is growing! 🎉 We have the opportunity to spread the gospel to the far reach places of the world for the glory of God. During our mission in Uganda last year, TCI board member Craig Botha spoke powerful words over Tim—reminding us that God often uses simple tools and willing hearts to do far more than we ever could on our own. This is part of the foundation of our ministry, using the simple things we have been gifted and provided by God to glorify His name. Just as David used his sling and stone to defeat the enemy, Tim Pearson uses his camera gear to shine light on humanitarian efforts throughout the world.

Hello Friends,
Can you believe this is the third year since Just a Sling and a Stone?!
We honestly have been grateful for everyone who has become part of this family, to help spread the message of God throughout the nations and share stories of the people reached.
As we continue our journey into this year, we are relying on the guidance of God through each day. We are praying for wisdom and direction of how to continue his work and who to continuing working with. Our work of capturing video and images for small nonprofits and organizations with the simple tools has opened doors we ask God to help us navigate through. We have been blessed with great opportunities of reaching those who are desperately in need around the world, including Uganda and Asia.
Our prayers currently have been towards our funds for missions taking place this month. We are in need of $2900 for materials and travel. These faces are the ones to greet the helping hands of TCI in a Uganda. These people are in need and are working alongside a missions organization to help them produce their own crops, educate children to give them more opportunities and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
