Tryout dates for the upcoming 2026-2027 hockey have been confirmed.

Tryouts for both Co-Ed and Lady Chieftains will be a 2-day tryout. Day 1 is a skills assessment and Day 2 a scrimmage.

Tryouts will begin week of March 16 and finish up week of March 23. Be sure to register before 3/6 in order to avoid a $25 Late Fee.

All tryouts will be held at Essex Rink in Middleton and the dates/times are posted to the website. To make it helpful, the info is as follows:

Drama! Tragedy! Elation! In an EPIC performance that will go down in the Masco storybooks, Mara Siewko has become a 2x All-American in the heptathlon (7 events) by placing in the top 8 at USATF Junior Olympic Track and Field Nationals in Savannah, Georgia.

She entered the competition as the #2 seed and seemed a lock for a top 8 placement. But then tragedy struck when she was disqualified from the 200M for a lane violation at the end of day one pushing her to the BOTTOM of the standings. All hope seemed lost!

But on day two Mara showed up on fire opening the day with a massive long jump of 17'11.75 placing first in the event. That moved her up to to the middle of the table. Then she won the javelin throw with gargantuan throw of 117'. Where did this put her???....all the way up into 8th place. She then held onto that position with a strong 800M which was the final event.

So she ONLY SCORED POINTS IN SIX of the SEVEN events and still made it to the podium!

Amazing job, Mara! We are all so proud of your performance and amazing comeback!

Congrats also to parents Dom and Anne who are such supportive parents and who were married in the area. They now have even more joyful memories associated with the location.
