We are a community-service organization with 45 members.

We are honored to announce the Bowman Area Veterans Wall Dedication Ceremony on Flag Day. On this special occasion, we want to honor and recognize the brave men and women who have served our country with courage, sacrifice, and pride. We are excited to finally unveil this lasting tribute to our area veterans, especially as we approach the 250th anniversary of this great nation.

This memorial stands as a lasting tribute to our veterans — past, present, and future — and a reminder that their service will never be forgotten.

🇺🇸 Know the Difference. Honor Each Properly. 🇺🇸

Too often, Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day get confused — but each carries a distinct meaning in honoring those who serve and have served our nation.

🔹 **Armed Forces Day** (Third Saturday in May)
Honors those currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.
This day recognizes the brave men and women actively wearing the uniform today.
🔹 **Memorial Day** (Last Monday in May)
Honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
This is a solemn day of remembrance for our fallen heroes who never came home.
🔹 **Veterans Day** (November 11)
Honors all who have served in the United States military, past and present.
A day to thank every veteran for their service and commitment.

⚠️ In simple terms:
Armed Forces Day = Active Duty
Memorial Day = Fallen Service Members
Veterans Day = All Veterans

Understanding the difference matters.

Respecting each day properly ensures we preserve the meaning behind the sacrifice, service, and dedication of America’s military community.

Honor with knowledge.

Kayo Isaak presented a check from American Legion Post #48 of Bowman, North Dakota, to the Western North Dakota Honor Flight. Kayo is a veteran who received his Flight of Honor on our most recent trip.

This Memorial Day, we invite our community to come together in remembrance and gratitude for the brave servicemembers who gave their lives in defense of our nation and our freedoms.

Please join the American Legion Post 48 - Bowman, ND for a special community gathering as we honor the fallen, reflect on their sacrifice, and stand united in support of our veterans, military families, and one another.

📍 Location: Bowman Cemetery
📅 Date: Monday, May 25, 2026
🕒 Time: 11:00AM MST

The event will include a memorial tribute, fellowship with neighbors and veterans, and an opportunity for all generations to pay their respects.
