BGISD’s first Early Release Wednesday of the year will be September 18, 2024.

On each Early Release Wednesday, schools will dismiss two hours earlier than a typical school day (Compass Academy at 12:05 p.m., BGJHS and Teranga Academy at 12:35 p.m., elementary schools at 1:00 p.m., BGHS at 1:15 p.m.). All students will have lunch at school before dismissal.

These afternoons provide more time for extended planning and data review for K-12 faculty, and offer opportunities for families to schedule appointments for students without missing school: checkups, orthodontists, etc.
