🌵 Prickly Pear Foraging Adventure! 🌵We spent some time harvesting beautiful, ripe prickly pears straight from the local cacti! It was such a fun experience out in the desert—tongs, pliers, and bowls in hand! We put the fruit straight into the freezer to make the processing and spine-removal step a little easier. 🌵Get ready to turn your backyard cactus bounty into something sweet! We are coming together to harvest local prickly pears and kick off an exciting community project. Whether your own yard is overflowing with fruit or you just want to lend a helping hand, your time and effort will help us create delicious, locally-made prickly pear syrup.It is a fantastic opportunity to meet your neighbors, enjoy the outdoors, and learn more about utilizing the amazing desert ingredients right in our backyards. 🌵 Let’s Harvest Prickly Pears, Bowie!
🌵Do you have a cactus overflowing with prickly pears in your yard? We want to help you harvest them! We are gathering a volunteer crew to pick local fruit and turn it all into delicious syrup.
Here are the details for our harvest loop
:📅 Date: Saturday, August 22nd
⏰ Time: 5:30 PM
📍 Meetup Location: Bowie AZ Community Center.
How you can join in: Donate Your Yard Fruit: If you have prickly pear cacti on your property and would like our volunteer team to come harvest them, please send a direct message to our page!
Volunteer to Pick: Grab your gear and meet us at the community center at 5:30 PM to help gather fruit around town.
What to bring if you are picking:Heavy leather work gloves 🪓Kitchen tongs (for safely gripping the fruit) Long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes 🥾

Big things are happening for the nursery! 🌳✨We are so incredibly excited about the amazing community support helping us build our bare root tree nursery! A massive shoutout to our anonymous donor for gifting us this awesome wooden box—getting it loaded up and moved was a team effort, but we got it done! 🚛💪 Another huge thank you to Jasmine Zerkle and Alex Penrose for donating the roll of wire mesh! 🛠️ All of these materials are officially moved into the fenced nursery zone over in the southwest corner. We are so excited to get things growing! 🌱

🌳 Community Help Needed: Tote Pickup This Thursday!
🌳Exciting news!
We just had a large tote donated to become the very first bed for our bare-root tree nursery. We would like to pick it up this Thursday. It is located in Bowie.
The Need: 1–2 volunteers to help load and transport.
The Time: This Thursday (we can coordinate the exact time based on your availability).
The Impact: This officially kicks off our community tree nursery!
