Celebration - A History of Visual Arts in Boulder - HOVAB Celebration! A History of the Visual Arts in Boulder (HOVAB).

HOVAB will revisit and celebrate the city's lively art past, beginning in the late 19th century and continuing all the way to the present. HOVAB is set to take place in 14 galleries, city-wide and in Longmont featuring more than 200 visual artists and filmmakers from September 29 through December 31, 2016. iversity of Colorado Department of Art and Art History, and will take place at the CU Art Museum concurrently. HOVAB is dedicated to the memory of Karen Ripley-Dugan, 1939-2015, a pillar of the Boulder art community and an original HOVAB Steering and Curatorial Committee member. Other committee members are Jennifer Heath (chair), Sally Elliott, Kevin Kelley (treasurer), Kathy Mackin and Joan Markowitz. Venues include: The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, the Dairy Center for the Arts, NCAR, Highland City Club, Boulder Public Library, Canyon Gallery of the BPL, The First Congregational Church Gallery, Naropa University, Rembrandt Art Yard, Mr. Pool, 15th Street Gallery, Macky Auditorium, Swoon Art House and Longmont's Firehouse Gallery have agreed to display the artwork and to host panel discussions, speakers and other programming. There will be a self-guided tour to iconic art and architecture landmarks, programs, panels, speakers and more.
