Whether we realize it or not, we as tax paying citizens have no influence on legislation for our country. If you don't believe me try to get a meeting with your congressman about a problem you are having in your district. Large corporations however have direct access to your congressmen thru lobbying firms. Some of the legislation put forth by large corporations greatly impacts our economic, socia
l, and natural resources. Since we don't have a unified voice we can't combat this legislation as it becomes law. Corporations made up less than 7% of the tax revenue in 2011, yet they influenced where a great percentage of that money was spent. We made up over 93% of tax revenue but got zero input in how that money was spent. If we form a corporation and start lobbying on capitol hill, then WE will become the influence on congress. The house of representatives care about two things; money and votes. If we have a large membership base and we are well funded, we can tear the steering wheel out of the hands of corporations and put it back in the hands of the people.
