The Rotary Club of Boulder Valley

The Rotary Club of Boulder Valley Please join us for lunch Tuesdays at noon on the campus of the University of Colorado. See our website for location of this week's meeting.

Visit our club's website at http://www.bouldervalleyrotary.club Our Rotary Club is very active and dedicated to service above self. We are a group of about 60 professionals who enjoy lunch and our speaker series together weekly. We discuss how we can better our community and world, enjoy each other's company, be inspired, and learn something from our speakers. We welcome diversity, community dedic

ation, friendship, and thoughtfulness. Speaker's Series
Each week we invite a different speaker to share their world with us at lunch. Recent speakers include a panel discussion among senate candidates, an expert on making speeches memorable, and a 70-year-old woman who spent two weeks in Iraq. Community Service
Our club members help the Boulder community through the club's grants program and fun volunteer events. We have rebuilt corrals at Medicine Horse, served dinner at Community Table, and held a joint meeting with immigrant English students from Intercambio de Comunidades. Our current focus is Early Childhood Education and Services. This year we have volunteer events and scholarship money we will provide to the Acorn School, the Boulder Day Nursery, and the Family Learning Center. International Activities
Our club members enjoy being members of the world community. We have hosted students and professionals from South Africa, Russia, Japan, Finland, Brazil, and many other nations. We organize grants to projects in developing countries using the successful Rotary model of local partnerships. Boulder's sister city of Yamagata, Japan, is home to our outstanding sister club, Yamagata North Rotary. Please join us any Tuesday for a free lunch! Last May 16, our Sister Club in Japan, Yamagata North Rotary Club, held their first-ever EPIC Day of Service. Rotarians and community members came together to clean, remove weeds, and maintain two meaningful sites developed through the club’s 30th and 50th anniversary projects.

Volunteers helped care for a cherry blossom park on Zao Mountain and a trail lined with beautiful Yamabuki flowers that bloom each spring. A great day of service, fellowship, and community impact.

Honoring the life and legacy of a truly remarkable Rotarian. πŸ’™ Last May 17 at Chautauqua Park, friends, family, and fellow Rotarians gathered to celebrate the beautiful life of Jim Beckley. His kindness, service, and dedication to the community will always be remembered.

Forever grateful for the impact he made.

πŸ’™πŸŒΏ Service in action at MASA Seed Foundation! Alongside the Boulder Flatirons Club for EPIC Day, we helped sort 40 lbs of black beans for the Nederland Food Bank, cleaned up the farm, repriced plants, and bagged compost.

Great teamwork, good fun, and about 12 volunteers making a difference! Bonus: spotting Andy Lenec, known for the Ukraine solar charging stations project. ⚑

From our last gathering at Dark Horse with Boulder Valley Rotary. It’s now closed in Boulder after 51 years, with plans to relocate to Louisville. Curious to see what the next chapter looks like.
