The AMGA Alpine Skills Course introduces guiding techniques for glacier travel and alpine terrain. This course is a common starting point for aspiring alpine guides looking to develop foundational guiding skills and for guides progressing through the Ski Guide discipline.

Participants will learn and practice:
👉Movement and management of multiple clients
👉Technical descents
👉Small-team rescue techniques

Our hearts are with the families, friends, and all those affected by this tragedy, and we extend our sincere appreciation to the search and rescue teams and local responders who are working in difficult conditions. The compassion and dedication of all involved reflects the strength and care within the mountain community.

AMGA Executive Director Matt Wade will testify today before the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Federal Lands at an oversight hearing on the EXPLORE Act. Passed in December 2024, the law includes long-awaited improvements to permitting for guides and instructors on public lands. Matt’s testimony will focus on Title III implementation.
