Food For Kidz Northwoods Food For Kidz Northwoods is a food repackaging event at LUHS in Minocqua, WI. We benefit 23 local food pantries and backpack programs.

In '25 we packaged 245,550 meals. We have packed over 2.9 million meals in 17 yrs! Our goal is 300,000 meals in 2026! Food For Kidz Northwoods is a food repackaging event held every October at LUHS in Minocqua. It is sponsored by the Boulder Junction Lions Club. We bring bulk food in from Stewart MN on a semi. We repackage it into smaller bags of 6-8 meals that consist of rice and beans, or cinnam

on and oatmeal, that are put into cases of about 40 bags per case. We then distribute that to 23 area food pantries and backpack programs. Whatever is not used by them, is taken back to Stewart MN and distributed to hungry children all over the world. We can’t do it without volunteers. We need 600 volunteers every year. It’s a fun, face-paced, and feel-good event. There aren’t many things you can do to help so many people in such a short period of time. If you have any friends, family, church groups, etc, we’d love to have you! In 2024 we packed 271,000 meals and have packed a total of over 2,600,000 million meals since we started our event 16 yrs ago! Donations can be made to:

Tomorrow we are 6 months away from set up for our event!

Starting our signup.com now. New this year is individual vs group signups. This way we can be more organized bringing larger groups to the tables.

Fundraising will begin in the next 6-8 weeks. If you want to do a sponsorship and have a group come and package, please sign up under the groups list. We will be working to have sponsorships at tables again this year!

Due to the federal government shutdown, SNAP FoodShare benefits for November have been delayed. SNAP FoodShare members should ensure your contact information (mailing address and email) is current using https://access.wi.gov/s/?language=en_US When the government shutdown ends, DHS will send a communication to FoodShare members notifying members of the status of benefits. Make sure to stay informed!

Here’s a few things you need to know about the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry’s services and how to take action to support your neighbors.

• We offer 3 free grocery shopping days per week: Mondays 3-5pm; Wednesdays 4-6pm; and Saturdays 9-11:30am. Registered customers can also place online orders for curbside pick-up during our regular shopping hours. Its not every day we get to see where our final product ends up. The Rib Lake United Methodist Church has a wonderful food pantry that benefits many area families. So happy we were able to provide them 10 of our cases this year!

The Rib Lake Community Food Pantry received this donation from Food For Kidz Northwoods . Thank you also to the Rib Lake Lions Club . It was because you support the Food For Kidz program thar we were given this! Thank you and God Bless!

We are beyond thankful for everyone that showed up and helped! From the packagers, to restockers who ran product, to the tables hosts who brought people in, to those that helped set up and take down. THANK YOU!
Also a huge thank you to LUHS and the custodial staff who had to clean up after us!
And thank you so much to every individual, business and lions club who donated. As well as Walmart and Trigs Minocqua WI for the refreshments and to all the cookie makers!
And lastly to Food for Kidz for bringing the semi with all the supplies!
