On Windows WSL might be a better solution than the BOINC virtual box.

I like the real Linux machine running on Windows.

YES the fundraiser was successful, hitting the $150 target.
Even after the steep PayPal fee of close to 10%.
The best deal turned out to be an UpCloud cloud server located in New York USA, cost $6 with backup.
The server is running Ubuntu 20 / PHP / SQL.
