Thank you to members of the The Boonsboro Lions Club (and Mr. Klaus Hein) for helping us last Wednesday pack Micah’s Backpack food bags!

With their help, over 2,000 food items were packed across 159 bags—supporting students for last weekend and helping us get ahead by stocking supplies for this week.

A big thank you to players from the Boonsboro High Warriors Baseball Team at Boonsboro High School who came out on Thursday to help unload and put away our latest Micah’s Backpack food delivery! ⚾📦🚛

With their help, almost 6,000 pounds of food and drinks were quickly carried in and organized, ready to be packed for the students we serve across Southern Washington County.

This was our final large delivery of the school year and will help provide weekend food for students during the last 12 weeks of school.

This morning, several families from Mt Nebo United Methodist Church Boonsboro MD came together to pack winter break food bags. In just a short time, they packed three days’ worth of food—over 3,100 items—for 157 students.

I am incredibly grateful for the time, heart, and service these families have given to children in our community. This marks the third year families from Mt. Nebo Church have stepped up to help make winter break a little brighter for local students.

🥣 Micah's Backpack - South Washington County, MD will be collecting oatmeal to feed students in our community.

Santa and Mrs Claus are heading this way from the North Pole to be at the Jingle Bell Market TOMORROW! This event is FREE to attend but Santa is collecting new, unwrapped toys for local kids in our area and we are collecting individual packets of oatmeal for Micah's Backpack - South Washington County, MD. We can’t wait to see you tomorrow! Snow or shine, we will be open! 🎅

📣 HUGE shoutout to our amazing community! Boonsboro, you truly showed up in a big way on Thursday!
We had a massive food delivery—362 cases of food, fruit, snacks, and juice! This was the second of three such deliveries planned for the school year. A huge thank you goes out to the Boonsboro High School Indoor Track & Field team for unloading and putting away five full pallets in record time! 🏃‍♀️💨🏃‍♂️
Shortly after, a trailer full of donations arrived from the annual Mr. Christmas_Community Outreach Thanksgiving Turkey Trot. Again, our fantastic volunteers unloaded it in a flash!
All food has now been sorted and will go home in our Micah’s Backpack weekend bags, as well as support other food insecurity programs in southern Washington County.
Your assistance and support make a tangible difference in our neighbors' lives. Thank you, everyone! 💙🧡🤍

As Thanksgiving week comes to an end, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who came together on Monday to pack more than 3,000 food and beverage items for 155 students for the long weekend. Thank you to volunteers from: St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Mt Zion Lutheran Church, St. James of St. Joseph Church, Hagerstown, MD and Burnside First Church of God.

Thank you to The Boonsboro Lions Club for helping pack our weekend food bags today! We’re also incredibly grateful for their generous donation of 180 boxes of macaroni and cheese — most of which will be going home with students next week.

Welcome to Micah’s Backpack – South Washington County, MD! 🎒💛
We’re excited to share that Micah’s Backpack in South County is now an official outreach of the South Washington County Ministerium — a network of local churches and volunteers serving families right here in our community.

Each week, we provide weekend food bags to 150+ students across 7 Washington County schools, ensuring that children have nourishing meals when school meals aren’t available.

Our mission continues — powered by your kindness, generosity, and partnership. 💛
