🐸 Can you guess what both of these are? 👀
Believe it or not, both frogs in this photo are Cuban Tree Frogs.
The large frog on top and the smaller frog below are the same species—just different ages and sizes.
One of the biggest myths we hear is:
“All the big ones are cane toads.”
Not true.
Large Cuban Tree Frogs are commonly mistaken for cane toads, especially when homeowners find them around lights, windows, pool cages, and landscaping at night.
A few quick clues:
✅ Large sticky toe pads for climbing
✅ Smooth skin compared to a cane toad
✅ Invasive in Florida
⚠️ Mildly toxic to pets if mouthed
While Cuban Tree Frogs aren’t as dangerous as cane toads, they are still an invasive species that can impact native wildlife and become a nuisance around homes.
At Evict-A-Beast, we remove both Cuban Tree Frogs and Cane Toads during our nightly inspections.
Would you have guessed these were the same species?
