Throughout the month of August , Holmes County EMS remained committed to providing fast, professional, and compassionate emergency medical care to the citizens and visitors of Holmes County.

Every call represents someone in need, and our dedicated EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and support staff continue to answer that call with professionalism and compassion—24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

🔹 EMT Kareese Ralston — transitioned into a Paramedic role

Please join us in congratulating Kareese on graduating from the Chipola College Paramedic Program! 🎓

Kareese is an EMT with Holmes County EMS, and through the partnership between HCEMS and the CORE Program, she received funding to attend paramedic school and further her career in the medical field.

We believe in investing in our employees and giving them opportunities to grow, advance their careers, and provide an even higher level of service to the citizens of Holmes County.

Progress is being made on the new Holmes County EMS building!

The project is coming along nicely, and we’re excited to see it taking shape. This new facility will provide our EMS crews with a modern, functional workspace that will better support the lifesaving services they provide to the citizens of Holmes County every day.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and support throughout this project. We’re looking forward to the day we can open the doors and continue providing the highest level of emergency medical care to our community.

One of Sheriff John Tate’s goals when Holmes County Sheriff’s Office assumed oversight of EMS just over a year ago was to bring a medical helicopter back to Holmes County and base it at Tri-County Airport.

After meeting with several air medical providers, we are excited to announce that Enterprise Rescue and PHI has agreed to establish a base of operations right here in Holmes County.

At Tuesday night’s Board of County Commissioners meeting, Sheriff Tate presented the agreement, and the Board unanimously approved the partnership.

The best part? This comes at absolutely no cost to the taxpayers of Holmes County. Enterprise Rescue will provide the aircraft, pilots, flight nurses, and flight paramedics while creating new jobs in our community. This partnership will also generate additional revenue for Tri-County Airport through aircraft fuel purchases and hangar space.

What does this mean for Holmes County?

🚁 Faster response times for critically injured and ill patients.
🚁 A stronger local emergency medical system.
🚁 New jobs and economic growth for our community.
🚁 Increased revenue for Tri-County Airport through fuel sales and hangar leasing.

This is another major step forward in strengthening emergency services for the citizens of Holmes County.

And we’re not finished yet.

There is even more exciting news coming from this partnership in the next few weeks. Stay tuned—Holmes County is moving in the right direction, and we’re just getting started.

We love bragging on our employees, especially when the compliments come from the people we serve.

This morning we received the following message from a member of our community:

“I just had EMS transport Mom to the hospital to get checked out. Tami and Austin did an amazing job and were super helpful.”

We couldn’t be more proud of Tami and Austin for the compassionate care and professionalism they showed during what was undoubtedly a stressful time for this family.

Today, members of the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office EMS Division had the privilege of providing CPR training to the teachers and staff at Grace Fellowship Christian Academy.

Knowing CPR can make the difference between life and death during a medical emergency. We commend the faculty for taking the time to learn these lifesaving skills and for their commitment to the safety and well-being of their students.

Today, we received this message from one of our citizens, and I wanted to share it because our Holmes County EMS and Fire Rescue personnel deserve the recognition.

Every day, our paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, and first responders answer the call without knowing what they’ll face.

They work long hours, miss time with their families, and are committed to providing the highest level of care to the citizens of Holmes County.

A special thank you the entire crew for representing Holmes County with professionalism, compassion, and excellence. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.
