Memory Eternal! Dorothy Jane Nicholas, 103, the oldest member of The Order of St.Ignatius of Antioch, reposed peacefully in our Lord Jesus Christ on Oct. 1, 2026.
"Her remarkable life was one of faith, sacrifice, generosity, and steadfast support of the Church," said Dr. Ramzi Khairallah, The Order's North American Chairman. "As we remember Aunt Dorothy, we invite you to revisit her inspiring story and the legacy she leaves behind. Undoubtedly, her life story inspired many of our members."
Born April 21, 1923, Dorothy was one of the last surviving "Rosie the Riveters," building gun prisms for tanks and aircraft during World War II, helping America's soldiers fight overseas.
For years, Aunt Dorothy worked alongside her beloved niece, Robin Nicholas, at her business called "The Greek Escape" in Los Angeles. She was a fixture at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral of Los Angeles where she was awarded its Meritorious Service Award in 2018. She was also a fixture at Parish Life Conferences in the Diocese of Los Angeles and the West when Robin hosted Bible Bowls.
