Another event for the books. After each one, I take a moment to reflect on all the beauty and the lessons that have come with this journey over the past six months.
In that time, we’ve received over 100 donations from our community, helped clothe more than 1000 individuals, and built connections that may not have been possible without this vision coming to life. We’ve been able to serve in ways that truly make a difference simply by showing up and being here. It’s been nothing short of life-changing.
I can’t fully express my gratitude for the opportunity to serve Bolingbrook and the surrounding communities who continue to support and visit the Bolingbrook Community Closet. We met so many amazing donors and welcomed new shoppers, but it was especially heartwarming to see our “Day Ones” and how much their little ones have grown. This three-day event was truly unforgettable.
None of this would be possible without our incredible volunteers. Our team continues to grow, and their dedication, willingness, and heart for service shine through in everything they do. It’s a beautiful thing to watch this “Power Team” come together.
A special thank you to the Bolingbrook Park District at the Annerino Community Center for welcoming us with open arms and supporting us every step of the way. Thank you as well to 4 Kids Sake and Dance Dimensions for providing racks, helping us stay organized, and creating the best possible shopping experience. We also have to thank Sankriti who came in with a team ready to serve! It takes a village!
