If you’ve followed the Toys for Tots Ride over the years, attended one of our events or dropped a toy into one of our boxes, you probably know what we do.
But you might not know how it all started. ❤️
Back in 2010, what began as a casual conversation over a few beers turned into an idea: bring people together, have a little fun and do something good for local kids at Christmas.
Just weeks later, the very first Toys for Tots Motorcycle Ride hit the road.
And that first ride?
🏍️ 22½ bikes.
Yep. Twenty-two and a HALF. 😆 (If you know you know)
It was a pretty humble beginning for something that would eventually grow into a Treasure Valley tradition.
Over the years, word spread. Friends brought friends. Local businesses stepped up. Volunteers joined the crew. Community partners got involved. And the Ride kept growing.
Those original 22½ bikes have turned into events with as many as 200 motorcycles and assorted vehicles coming together for the same reason.
And while motorcycles will always be part of our roots, the Ride has become about so much more than what you drive.
It’s about community. Service. Supporting our local Marines and the Toys for Tots mission. And helping make Christmas a little brighter for children right here in the Treasure Valley. 🎄🎁
In 2022, Toys for Treasure Valley Corporation was officially established as a nonprofit organization, giving us the opportunity to continue growing that mission and our support of the local Toys for Tots campaign.
Today, we’re still a group of local volunteers.
We have different backgrounds, different jobs and different reasons for getting involved—but we share one goal:
Do some good. Have some fun. Help local kids.
There’s always room for another person at the table.
Whether you volunteer at an event, come to a planning meeting, join the committee, donate, sponsor an event, share a post or simply show up and participate—you become part of the story too.
From 22½ bikes in 2010 to hundreds of people coming together today, a lot has changed.
But the reason we do it hasn’t.
