United Vision for Idaho (UVI) is a progressive, multi-issue network committed to advancing shared priorities that create tangible improvements in people's lives. Since 1997, our mission has been to build a strong, inclusive, and people-driven movement that leaves no one behind. From rural farmlands to urban centers, we strive to connect communities across divisions and regions, working together to
foster systemic change. UVI is a bulwark against regressive agendas, taking on the challenging work of uniting communities across cultural, social, and political divisions and connecting our work to state-level, national, and international efforts. Our work is designed to bridge ideological divides, foster dialogue and collaboration, to generate widespread engagement to strengthen our democratic systems and build a resilient, inclusive, just democracy that reflects the values, interests, and dignity of all people. The challenges we face in Idaho today will impact every American tomorrow—and tomorrow is here. UVI's Mission to Counter Extremism
Addressing Extremism at Its Roots
Recognizing the unique challenges faced by rural America, our work addresses the conditions that allow authoritarian ideologies to thrive, growing distrust and alienation from democratic governance, ideological division, economic hardship, personal struggle, social isolation and disinformation. UVI’s rural strategy tackles these root causes directly, seeking to re-engage communities often distrustful of democratic processes. Today, a growing number of Americans across the political spectrum feel politically homeless. A majority of Americans believe that structural reforms are needed to address various levels of corruption and strengthen democratic systems. Moving from Vision to Action, we advocate a bold agenda, not a list of policies the establishment says we can win, but what the people of Idaho and this country must win! We are building power for a new multi-racial, working class movement to win real improvements in people’s lives and center Idaho in the larger fights that make that truly possible.
