A Message from the FARE Idaho Board of Directors: Over the past two years, a USDA grant helped FARE Idaho expand our programming, grow our reach, and build new connections across the state. That grant cycle is coming to an end, and with it, the organization is entering a new chapter.

As part of this transition, FARE Idaho and its Executive Director, Tammie Halcomb, are parting ways. We want to thank Tammie for her dedication, drive, and tireless work to build up Idaho's local food system.

Tammie’s leadership over the past two years brought significant growth to the organization, and we’re proud of the work accomplished. Through initiatives like Field to Fork in Boise and Sandpoint, the introduction of The Foodport in Caldwell, and a series of networking and industry gatherings across the state, FARE created connections statewide. The organization also advanced policy work, maintaining a presence in the Idaho statehouse, advocating for our local food systems, and supporting legislation like the Direct to Consumer Act, which will allow independent businesses greater access to local markets. Together, these efforts elevated the visibility of Idaho’s independent food and agriculture community and deepened collaboration across the sector.

FARE Idaho's mission has not changed. We exist to connect Idaho's independent farms, food, and beverage producers with the local restaurants, grocers, and businesses that buy their products. That work will continue.

What is changing is how FARE funds that work. Grant funding helped us grow, but the long-term foundation of this organization has always been the Idaho businesses we serve. Membership support and sponsorship partnerships are what sustain our FARE Idaho mission, and what will carry us forward. Our team remains in place: Luna continues in her administrative role, and our grant manager continues to oversee all active grant obligations. The board is focused on FARE's next chapter and will share more about our path forward soon.

If you're a current member or sponsor, thank you - your support has never mattered more.

If you've been thinking about joining, this is the moment. Reach out to us at [email protected] if you want to talk more.

- FARE Idaho Board of Directors
