Morning Reading for November 28, 2025
Scripture: 2 Peter 2:1–22

Key Verse:
“Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.” — 2 Peter 2:9

Summary
In this sobering passage, Peter warns believers that just as Israel faced false prophets, the church will face false teachers—people who distort the truth, exploit others, and draw hearts away from Christ through deception, sensuality, and greed. Their influence is subtle but destructive, and their judgment is certain.

Peter grounds this warning in three historical examples of God’s justice:
Fallen angels cast into gloomy darkness,
The ancient world judged by the flood while Noah was preserved,
S***m and Gomorrah condemned while Lot was rescued.
These examples reveal a profound truth: God knows how to hold the wicked accountable AND how to preserve the righteous.

False teachers lure unsteady souls with boasts, empty promises, and worldly desires. They promise freedom but are enslaved themselves. Their end is tragic—a return to corruption and spiritual ruin, like a dog returning to its vomit.
Peter’s warning is also a call to vigilance: to stay rooted in truth, aware that deception often comes clothed in attractiveness, charisma, or convenience.

Glow to Glue Connection
This passage reminds us that leadership—true, godly leadership—is always about integrity, truth, and protection.

How can I remain rooted in Scripture and discernment so that I’m not drawn off the path?
Who in my life needs steady leadership, guidance, or protection from harmful influences today?
How can I imitate God’s heart by rescuing, guiding, and strengthening others?

Prayer
Father, thank You for Your faithful protection. Give me discernment to recognize falsehood, courage to stand for truth, and compassion to guide others toward righteousness. Strengthen my heart to remain steady and pure, even when the world grows darker. Help me lead with integrity, humility, and love. Rescue me from every hidden snare, and use me to help rescue others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Passage: 2 Peter 1:1–21

Key Verse:
2 Peter 1:4 — “By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature…”

Summary:
Peter writes to believers who share the same precious faith. God’s divine power has already given everything needed for life and godliness through knowing Christ. Because of this gift, we must diligently grow—adding virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, brotherly affection, and love. These qualities keep us fruitful in our knowledge of Jesus. Forgetting them leads to spiritual blindness, but practicing them strengthens assurance and guards us from falling. Peter reminds them that his teaching is not myth; he was an eyewitness of Christ’s majesty on the holy mountain and heard the Father’s voice. Scripture is fully trustworthy—not born of human will, but spoken from God as the Holy Spirit carried along the writers.

The Glow is the shining life that develops as we cultivate Christlike qualities. The Glue is how these virtues bind us to God’s promises and anchor us in truth, making our faith steady, fruitful, and unshakeable.

📖 Morning Reading — November 26, 2025

Passage: 1 Peter 4:7–5:14

Key Verse:
1 Peter 5:7 — “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

Summary:
Peter reminds believers that the end is near, calling them to be self-controlled, sober-minded, and prayerful. Above all, they must love one another deeply, show hospitality without grumbling, and use their gifts to serve as stewards of God’s grace. Trials should not surprise them—sharing in Christ’s sufferings leads to future joy. If insulted for Christ, they are blessed because God’s Spirit rests on them. They are to entrust their souls to their faithful Creator while doing good.

Peter urges elders to shepherd willingly, humbly, and by example—not for gain or control. Younger believers are to submit, and all are to clothe themselves with humility. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Believers must stay alert, resist the devil, and stand firm in faith. After suffering briefly, God will restore, strengthen, and establish them. This is the true grace of God—stand firm in it.

1 Peter 3:15 — “But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”

Summary:
Peter calls believers to unity, sympathy, brotherly love, tenderness, and humility. Instead of returning evil for evil, we bless others, knowing God’s favor rests on the righteous. We guard our speech, turn from evil, and pursue peace. Even if we suffer for doing good, we are blessed. We honor Christ as Lord by being ready to explain our hope with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience so slander has no power. Christ suffered once for sins to bring us to God, rose again, and now reigns in heaven. Because Christ suffered, we arm ourselves with His mindset—living not for human passions but for God’s will. The world may be surprised when we don’t join their ways, but all will give account to God.

Because of God’s great mercy, we have been born again into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus. Our inheritance is imperishable, undefiled, unfading, and protected by God’s power.
Even when trials grieve us, they refine our faith like gold, proving it genuine and bringing glory to Christ. Though we have not seen Jesus, we love Him and rejoice with inexpressible joy, knowing that the outcome of our faith is the salvation of our souls. The prophets longed to see this grace, and even angels marvel at the salvation God has revealed to us.

Glow is the living hope — the joy that can’t be explained, the unseen Christ we love, the inheritance that never fades, the mercy that made us new.
