Please don't forget to remember the Bluffton Cemetery when you are asking for donations for a loss of a loved one, or just because. The Cemetery relies on the kindness of others and has little to no budget to maintain the entire cemetery.

There have been a lot of storms lately that have taken down several large limbs and trees. Through the generosity of a few of our residents, we are able to get these taken down, but we always need funding for maintenance. Also if you want to plan a clean up day with any of your family members or friends, just reach out and we can make sure there are no funerals or others being planned. Donations are needed to keep this sacred place beautiful for others to see. You can find a link to how you can make a donation on the about page on this site.

As you see the storms over
The past couple of weeks have left a section of the cemetery in total disarray. To remove the dead trees and massive limbs we will need to dig on to our maintenance fund. This is used for monthly mowing and trimming. Any donations to help would be greatly appreciated. We have a fund w the Community foundation of the Lowcountry or you can mail a check the the PO Box 282 bluffton

Spring is in the air, and the flowers are beautiful at our Bluffton Cemetery. If you are happy with the look of this place, we can always use your help in form of donations. Also, if you have a group that wants to go out and do weekend clean ups now is the time to set this up. Always remember, REMOVE your debris - we do not have the funds in place to haul away old flowers.

The Bluffton Cemetery has a fund with the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry which allow all donations to be tax deductible.. If you would look at this site and consider making a donation it would be appreciated.

We have had more rain this month than ever before, and along with recent thunder and lightening storms, the cemetery is not only wet but is showing signs of damage to several tall pine trees. Please be careful if you are cleaning your family plot as there are older trees and also damaged trees around. We are working diligently to find a tree company that is able to get a crane to cut the most damaged ones.
The cemetery relies on the kindness of our residents to donate funds for maintenance. We are a community cemetery, and have no guaranteed income to maintain so please consider making a donation. A tax deductible donation can be made at the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry. Search Bluffton Cemetery Preservation Society and it is an easy online transaction.
We need everyone to help keep our cemetery clean and safe.

While this may look pretty on first glance, it’s actually refuse someone took from their family gravesite and dumped at this tree by the entry - please, respect everyone’s sacred spaces by taking your castoffs with you - so sad to see this place we’re working so hard to clean up being trashed by some selfish someone!!
There are also remnants of old flowers thrown in the bushes. again we have no refuse area and ask that you take your debris with you. Thanks for helping us make this an awesome cemetery.

It is always interesting to see what family members of loved ones add to the cemetery plots of those that have left us. This stone puppy must have been something special to this family.

I hope everyone had a joyful holiday and preparing for a bright new year.
Recently over the holidays, families of loved ones have noticed bricks and other items missing from their graves. If you have noticed unusual activity while visiting your departed, please call the Sheriff's office to file a report.
This is a community cemetery (not perpetual care) and is open to anyone who wants to visit. There is only one light that gives a slight bit of security during the night, but it isn't enough to light the entire property.
We would also encourage you to keep in mind any items you want to place on each grave, that they aren't of great sentimental or financial value.
In the world we live in today, old bricks, metals and any other natural stones are of interest to thieves.
