Feb 17, 26 Update
It is with a sad heart that we were forced to put Shadow Belle down yesterday. She was doing so well, but then inexplicably crashed. I was planning on taking her to the vet first thing Monday because I noticed that she was sleeping more, very comfortable like in a nice ball, very peaceful like. But I noticed some sneezing so I knew she had a uri. Over the weekend, I had her sitting on my lap taking Rebound, a cat supplement for cats not eating well. She took it quite well, no fighting, happily slurping it up, so I thought that she would be OK. But Monday morning when I went to say good morning to her, I could tell that something more serious than an uri was going on. I immediately took her to the emergency vet as my vet wasn't open yet. There I was told that something difinetely was going on and that even if they tried to stabilize her, at a cost of $5,000, they couldn't guarantee success, and did not even give it a high probability. The vet thought that it was a cancer which can often be missed in cats. I asked how, with her blood work looking so good just a couple of weeks ago, this could have happened, the vet said that something similar happened to her cat. Sometimes cats just go down very fast like that. It's never easy, but Shadow Belle hit me particularly hard. I was actually hoping to be able to return her to the lady that wanted to keep feeding her since she said that she would keep her inside so that she could give her thyroid medicine, we were going to pay for her medicine and vet checkups since she was on a limited income. It was terribly disappointing to lose her, instead of making that happen. 😥

Shadow Belle's T4 count is now in the normal range! We'll be scheduling her dental this week!

This is Shadow Belle, she is an older cat with many health issues. We've gotten her on good for the thyroid food and thyroid medicine. We also got her better from a uti. We now need to get her ready for some major dental work. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
