While it’s wonderful that this day finally became recognized as a federal holiday in June 2021, it has long been commemorated in communities around the United States to honor the ancestors. Take some time to acknowledge our history as a country and look inward on how you can contribute to disrupting the legacy of systemic racism in this county.

Did you know that today is National Voter Day? Many states have put new voter laws in place since the last election. If you haven't done it, take a minute to check that your registration is current.

Remind someone you love to register today, too, especially anyone you know who has just turned 18!

Missourians... you need to be aware of the new ID laws. This will likely impact your ability to vote.

The EAC will once again join forces with Blue Springs Democrats and several other groups to ask the City Council to consider a ban on conversion therapy in Blue Springs tonight at 6pm. City Council meets in the Public Safety Building at 1100 Smith Blue Springs, MO. Come out and show your support.

So proud to be standing with the Blue Springs Democrats to support a ban on conversion therapy in our community. Keep watching for further action.

Thank you to everyone who came out tonight! It was pretty clear that our leadership is going to resist bringing a conversion therapy ban forward, but we know that we are on the right side on this issue and will continue to advocate for our LGBTQ kids.
