🎤 Why Hoosier Heart? Why This Event? ❤️
I’ve lived in Bloomington with my husband, Blake, for 14 years, and this community has truly become home to us. It’s where we’ve built our life, our businesses, and our relationships. It’s also where I’ve raised my kids into adulthood, with one still at home, and that season of life has given me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of strong support systems for families.
For a long time, I’ve felt a pull to give back in a way that feels meaningful, joyful, and community centered, especially for kids and parents in our community who may not always have access to the resources they need.
I attended a lip sync battle fundraiser back in my hometown in Kentucky and immediately fell in love with it. Not just because it was fun, but because of what it created. It brought people together. It broke down walls. It reminded everyone that doing good doesn’t have to feel heavy. It can be fun, uplifting, and full of heart.
That experience stayed with me.
So I thought, why not bring something like that here?
The Hoosier Heart Lip Sync Battle is my way of giving back to the community that’s given us so much. It’s about coming together, laughing, cheering each other on, having a blast and using that energy to support kids and families in our community.
Each year, this event will support a different local nonprofit, with the goal of helping create stronger support systems for children, parents, and caregivers right here at home.
This isn’t just an event. It’s something I hope becomes a community tradition. One that feels inclusive, joyful, and rooted in genuine care.
