WOW! A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our inaugural St. Baldrick’s event such a success! In our very first year, we had six brave shavees and raised over $2500- with donations still coming in!

Thank you to Casper Brewing Company for being such an amazing host. Thank you to Tricoci University of Beauty Culture for sending volunteers to shave our heads. Thank you to Gina Louise for capturing the event through your incredible pictures, Rachel Schneider for handling our 50/50 raffle and Whitney Weatherford for helping check in shavees among other tasks.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We couldn’t have done this without you all.

There is still time to contribute if you’d like to support the cause. In the meantime, be sure to follow our page for updates and details about next year. We’re already planning to make it bigger and better!

We’re always looking for additional volunteers. Please reach out if you’d like to be a part of the team.

Hello! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is C.J. Osback. My family and I have lived in Bloomington for the past 6 years. This upcoming March will be my 14th St. Baldrick’s event. My family has not been able to avoid cancer, and it is the reason why I continue to raise money and shave every year.

Prior to moving to Bloomington, we would attend the annual St. Baldrick’s event in Manteno, IL. We had an incredible time every year. We raised thousands of dollars, had 100+ shavees, and shared laughter, tears and maybe some beers. It was hands down my favorite day of the year.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a void in central Illinois. There are no public events in Bloomington, Champaign, Springfield, Peoria or Decatur. My wife Erika and I see this as a huge opportunity. There are families everywhere that are impacted by cancer and pediatric cancer. They need our love and support while we continue to raise money for research. It just takes a few brave people to take the time to get the ball rolling.

We are still in the prep stages and our “committee” is incredibly small. Please reach out if you’re interested in:
- Helping with the event
- Being a shavee
- Wanting to donate
- Learn more

If you couldn’t tell, I’m incredibly passionate about this amazing cause. We look forward to having you join us at Casper Brewing on March 21st!

Hello friends and BloNo community! We are excited to announce that we are bringing a St. Baldrick's event that is open to the public here in Bloomington-Normal. There are currently no events open to the public in Central Illinois, so we are excited to gather together with you all!
If you're not familiar, St. Baldrick's is an organization aimed at raising money for pediatric cancer research. We come together at this event to celebrate our fundraising achievements as well as any superheroes that may be joining us. Additionally, those interested will shave their head in solidarity.
For our inaugural event, we will be gathering at Casper Brewing Company on Saturday, March 21 at 3 PM. The address is 3807 Ballybunion Rd, Bloomington. Festivities will include honoring any local superheroes, head shaving, a 50/50 raffle, and overall celebrating. Children are welcome at the brewery when accompanied by a parent. Please make sure you mark 'Going' on the event so we have an idea how many to expect.
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone that can make it! If you have any questions or would like to help with the event, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
