Meet the heart behind the heels. 💕👠

Danielle Willis, our Founder & Executive Director, created Strut to Success with a purpose: helping Black girls know their worth, recognize their power, and confidently take up space—even when they’re the only Black girl in the room. We welcome girls of all backgrounds as we build confidence, connection, and community.

From pink binders around a school table to conversations that remind a girl her voice matters, this mission comes to life by showing up.

As we grow, we need more people willing to show up with us:

Two Fridays away from my girls was too long! 💕 Between fall break and a school celebration, we had a little pause—but it felt so good to be back at Batchelor this morning for our Teen Strut Circle.

These girls are FULL of personality, and I missed being in the room with them! Seeing their pink binders around the table reminds me why I love this work: creating space for girls to be themselves, build confidence, and know they have someone in their corner.

As Strut to Success grows, we’re looking for more women to join us as volunteer mentors. If you’re ready to listen, encourage, and show up consistently for girls in our community, we’d love to connect.

💕 MENTOR MONDAY | Real Women. Real Wisdom.

Think about the girl you used to be.

What do you wish someone had told her? What lesson did you have to learn the hard way? What words would have made her feel a little more confident, capable, or understood?

Sometimes mentorship starts with simply sharing what you know now with a girl who is still figuring it out. 💗

Maybe she needs to hear:

✨ Take up space.
✨ Ask questions.
✨ You don’t have to shrink to fit in.
✨ Mistakes don’t define you.
✨ Trust yourself.
✨ You are enough.

💕 MENTOR MONDAY | Real Women. Real Impact.

Mentorship isn’t about having a perfect life or having all the answers. Sometimes the greatest impact comes from simply showing up.

Listening without judgment. Sharing what you’ve learned. Celebrating her progress. Correcting her with care. Exposing her to new possibilities. Reminding her who she is when she forgets. 💗

The women who pour into girls today can become the voices they carry with them for years to come.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to be someone she can learn from.

Show up. Pour in. Plant the seed. 🌱

Today is International Day of the Girl.

For 11 days, we’ve celebrated her confidence. Her voice. Her dreams. Her resilience. Her leadership. Her sisterhood. Her future.

Today, we celebrate ALL OF HER.

And at Strut to Success, we especially celebrate Black girls in every shade, with every personality, every story, every dream, and every possibility ahead of them.

We want girls to know their worth, recognize their power, see what is possible for them, build meaningful community, and confidently take up space—even when they are the only Black girl in the room.

Our 11-day campaign may end today, but our investment in girls doesn’t.

💕 Educate her.
👑 Empower her.
🤝🏾 Support her.
📣 Listen to her.
✨ Invest in her.

Day 10 — I Am a Leader 👑

Tomorrow is International Day of the Girl, and today we’re celebrating something we believe deeply at Strut to Success:

Girls aren’t only future leaders. They’re leaders RIGHT NOW.

Leadership can look like speaking up. Helping someone. Starting something. Making a difficult decision. Standing up for what’s right. Being the first to try.

You don’t need a title to lead. 👑

Day 9 — I Keep Going 🌱

Every girl will face moments that challenge her confidence, plans, and belief in herself.

Resilience doesn’t mean pretending those moments don’t hurt. It means learning, growing, getting support when you need it—and continuing forward.

One setback doesn’t get to write the rest of your story.

🌱 Keep growing. Keep learning. Keep going.

Day 8 — I Use My Voice 📣

Your ideas matter.
Your experiences matter.
Your perspective matters.
Your story matters.

We want girls to learn early that they don’t need permission to contribute to the conversation.

Whether she’s speaking in class, setting a boundary, sharing an idea, advocating for something she believes in, or simply saying, “This is who I am,” her voice deserves space.

📣 Speak, girl. We’re listening.

Day 7 — I Am More Than a Stereotype ✊🏾

Black girls are not a monolith.

They are soft AND strong. Quiet AND powerful. Athletes. Artists. Scholars. Leaders. Creators. Dreamers. Entrepreneurs. Introverts. Innovators.

Our girls deserve the freedom to discover who they are without the world deciding who they’re supposed to be.
