Membership in the Kiwanis Club of Bloomington is open to men and women who live and/or work in Monroe County who are interested in community service, the mentoring of youth and are dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis Club of Bloomington meets every Thursday at the American Legion for lunch, fellowship, and a program. We've had a variety of speakers from
Indiana University legend Tom Crean, to government officials and non-for-profit organization leaders! Besides our weekly meetings, Kiwanis Club of Bloomington supports many service leadership programs including but not limited to Circle K at Indiana University, Key Club, Builders Club, and K-Kids. Other organizations supported by Kiwanis Club of Bloomington include Miss IU Organization, Visually Impaired Pre-school Services, and National Guard Family Services to name a few. Kiwanis Club of Bloomington have two yearly fundraisers. The first is 'Operation: Chili for Children' held at the National Guard Armory on South Walnut. This fundraiser benefits our service learning programs, Visually-Impaired Pre-School Services and the American Legion Auxiliary Hoosier Girls State. The second fundraiser is the 'Annual Antique Model A Ford Car Show and Pancake Breakfast.' This event is held on the last Saturday in April and is a great event for all ages.
