The Macon-Thomas Chapter is named in honor of the late Captain Richard Macon, Original Tuskegee Airmen, Pioneer, and LTC. Donald Thomas, Original Tuskegee Airmen, Pioneer. Burnett began his search to meet on a regular basis, so, he chose the Ponderosa Steak House in Southfield, Michigan. After the Chapter grew to over 67 members, Mr. Burnett knew the Chapter needed a larger facility to hold its monthly chapter meetings, so, he contacted Col. Keith Sousa, Commander of the 645th Reserve Unit in Southfield, Michigan, where the Commander granted the Chapter access to the U. S. Army Reserve Facility to hold its monthly chapter meetings.
