This year, Max is inviting you to join him at Miles for MCM, whether that means walking the 5K, becoming a sponsor, or simply helping us spread the word.

After surviving a traumatic brain injury, Max experienced firsthand how difficult recovery can be. While he was fortunate to have support, many survivors and families face the journey without the resources, guidance, and community they need.

That’s why MCM exists.

When you participate in Miles for MCM, you’re helping provide support, education, and hope to individuals and families navigating life after a brain injury.

Join us on June 28 at the Detroit Riverwalk and help make a difference, one mile at a time.

Max’s life today looks different.

But it’s also full of strength, resilience, and progress.

The truth is - he had more support than most, and that’s not the reality for so many families.

That’s why MCM was created.
To provide support, resources, and education around the real experiences of TBI.

If this hit home, you’re part of this story now too. We'd love you to join us in being a part of what we’re building.

This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

At the Foundation, we also recognize the many veterans and service members living with traumatic brain injuries — the invisible wounds that can impact a lifetime. Their strength, resilience, and sacrifice deserve awareness, support, and continued advocacy every single day.

Today, we remember those we lost, stand beside those still fighting battles after service, and recommit ourselves to building a community rooted in hope, recovery, and support.

❤️🤍💙

This video is more than just moments put together — it’s a reminder of how far I’ve come. From long days in therapy to walking in the snow again, golfing, going to concerts, and getting pieces of my life back one step at a time.

Recovery hasn’t been easy, and there were days I wanted to give up. But the love, encouragement, prayers, and support I’ve received — and continue to receive every single day — have helped keep me going even when things felt impossible.

I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has stood beside me throughout this journey. Every message, every visit, every word of encouragement has meant more than you know.

Healing is not a straight line, but I’m proud of every step forward.

May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, and I want to take a moment to thank the incredible speech-language pathologists who helped me find my voice again after my accident.

There was a time when I couldn’t talk for a long time, and at moments it felt impossible. Through patience, encouragement, and countless hours of therapy, my speech therapists played a major role in my recovery and helped me rebuild something so many people take for granted — communication.

I’m beyond grateful for every word, every breakthrough, and every person who stood by me throughout this journey. Thank you for helping me speak, express myself, and regain confidence again.

To all speech-language pathologists: the work you do changes lives in ways words can’t fully describe.

Every 3 seconds, someone in the U.S. sustains a TBI.

Behind that statistic is a person.
A family.
A life that just changed in an instant.

This is the reality too many people are walking through—often without the support they need.

👉 Share this. The more people who understand, the more we can change that.
