Did you know? The Honduran white bat is the first mammalian species known to incorporate carotenoids (a class of red, orange and yellow pigments found in plants) in their skin. 💛
The bright yellow color of their wings, ears, and nose comes from a yellow carotenoid pigment called lutein, which is likely attained by the bat’s diet of peeled fig fruits. 🍈

So far this year, I have taken in over 50 bats. I have released twenty one and some have passed away. Currently I have 30. Plus, I have a small pilates studio and a small farm with livestock. I need help, mainly with cage cleaning, but there is always something to do. I may have to stop taking in bats as there is only so much time in a day. So, anyone who wants to help, vaccinated or not, let me know. I don't want to say no to any bat.

Why do we need a world WITH BATS?

Insectivorous bats can eat 50 to 100% of their body weight in insects nightly, including mosquitoes

Mosquitoes carry diseases, such as West Nile Virus. The more bats eat the mosquitoes, your chance of contracting a disease from a mosquito bite goes down

When there are enough bats to eat crop pests, farmers do not need to use insecticides or pesticides. If they do use insecticides or pesticides, their cost goes up, and so does yours. AND do you wanna eat that stuff and adjust those chemicals into your body?

Fruit bats pollinate, such as the lesser long nose bat.They pollinates agave plants, so you can drink tequila!

And they are so cute!

This eastern red bat pups mom was killed by a cat. The pup has what looks to be a broken wing,probably caused by the same cat. This pup will probably have to be euthanized because of contact with a cat.

2 baby intakes today, Pinkola and Petros
These pups got their name from the kind woman who transported them from teleco village to me. But I still have three babies that need names. To help with fundraising, we're doing a silent auction, and the top 3 bidders will get each get to name 1 baby,plus a meet anf greet! This is to help raise funds to pay for food and other necessities for all the bats that come in. PLEASE CONSIDER Bidding!

This is hard to tell but there are 3 BABIES on that mom! Had no idea she was pregnant. I see another name the baby, meet and greet silent auction coming! Mom is Terry!
